This month I have been prompted to blog on the distressing subject of dognapping, which has been on the rise since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Kindly share this article which includes prevention measures and what to do if the worst happens.

Sound advice from the Dogfather about how to make 5th of November fireworks / bonfire night less stressful for your dog/s.
Dog Fireworks 🎇 Advice
Lastly, at night try to make sure your dog has had their walk before fireworks start going off. Let them have a big walk in the morning and a short one when you get home from work, (or can escape from that home office!) for example, so that you can avoid being out walking a dog when they go off.
(Don’t stop walking the dog just because the dark nights are here, by the way - that’s not fair!)
Find your dog a nice place in the middle of the house make sure windows are closed to minimise noise. Leave the radio or TV on if you go out.

Queen Elizabeth II has had Corgis in her family for her entire life. Here are some vintage photos of how those dogs impacted her.
Remember, remember, on the 5th of November many dogs and other pets and wildlife will be traumatised by fireworks.
Current legislation allows for public use of fireworks 16 hours a day, every day, making it impossible for vulnerable groups to take precautions against the distress they can cause. Better enforcement of existing law is insufficient; limiting their sale & use to licensed displays only is necessary.
