It’s that time of the year again! I am taking provisional notes of interest for my newest batch of dwarf kittens, ready to go to their new 🏡 mid-late June. ❤️

I have a number of ✨ DWARF ✨ kittens available at Beeghos HQ.

They are all friendly, outgoing little people and super super cute. I am really smitten with them! They cannot live with regular full size rats so will need to be housed separately in their own cage, but otherwise their care is the same. There are both bucks and does available. I came back home from my trip to Australia last week to find that during my absence the babies have grown LOADS!! They are starting to look like proper little rats now which means that I am beginning to think about picking keepers. There is a few that have caught my eye already 👀

The first litters of 2025 have arrived a little while ago and are all doing absolutely fantastic. I mostly focused on the black/blue line this time around and we actually ended up with the full range of colours from this line (black, agouti, British blue and British blue agouti) including some from Beeghos Boiling Point, my stunning champion British blue doe. Miss Bonnie (Beeghos Scotch Bonnet) had her 2nd litter too and was far more sensible this time around with only 9 babies - her 1st was a massive brood of 18. She gave me some more ivories, some cinnamons and a pair of cinnamon pearl does 🥺. Last but not least a litter for the PED line from Beeghos Seeing Red who was just a little bit too young to breed with the other silver fawn & champagne does towards the end of last year. I love this doe’s type and temperament and hope I have picked a good buck to compliment her 💕

It’s taken me almost 2 months to post this as only days after this show my life got turned upside down as I was told I am being made redundant from the job I’ve been at and loved the past 3 years. This was completely unexpected and I did not cope well with the news whatsoever 😞 But life goes on and where one door closes another one opens and things are slowly settling down. I think I’m ready to get back into the swing of rattery admin now so watch this space!

ANYWAY.

Bradford Championships on 18/01/2025 was certainly an amazing way to start of the new year in terms of rat things. It is one of my favourite shows and I had such a lovely day with my favourite people. Not only did I get an opportunity to judge the pet section at this show but I have also passed the final parts of my varieties judging assessment! I am really looking forward to starting this new chapter and judging some shows 🥰

This girl is now retiring from the show bench at 7 months old having had won 1x BOA, 1x RBIS and 5x BIS and a total of 20 stars to her name. Little Blacklist absolutely smashed it at her first show and Army Tank is now also likely retiring as he has qualified for his Silver Champion title 💪 GO TEAM ❤️❤️❤️

Lovely day out at our local NFRS Show in Rutherglen on Saturday. Having my own rats win is always amazing but seeing pet homes do great is even better! Dumpling Rats absolutely smashed it with their Beeghos crew ❤️

She is also on 15 stars so needs 1 more for Platinum Champion but as she’s only 5 months old I am really hopeful that she can do it! Also a special mention to her younger cousin Boiling Point (British blue) who has earned her 8th star at this show making her a Silver Champion. Clever girlies 🥰

When last week I said we were done with breeding for this year I may have been slightly mistaken… Turns out Beeghos Scotch Bonnet was pregnant after all despite fooling me into thinking she wasn’t🙈

So everyone, please welcome Bonnie and her freshly baked beans! Keeping all fingers and toes for lots of ivories from this super special girl 🐁

The final litters of 2024 have arrived safely and we have a full house of babies here at Beeghos HQ. Mums and kittens are all doing very well and I’m so excited to see them grow 💕

In order of appearance: some chunky silver fawns and champagnes; Dirty Dishwater’s big brood of 21 which are all with us still; and last but certainly not least, the long awaited ivories! 🐁🐁🐁

A record has been broken here at Beeghos HQ! On Monday 21st October, Beeghos Dirty Dishwater (RBA doe) has given birth to a gigantic litter of 21 live babies. Mum and the tiny newborns are doing surprisingly well and all are still with us today at 6 days old 💕

The previous biggest litter was by a chocolate doe called Cupcake Crumbelina who had 18 in October 2021. Unfortunately only half survived to homing age.

I’m a bit late posting this but… what a weekend we have had! On Saturday 28th September I went down to the NERS Stannington show to judge some lovely pets and somehow managed to give the top 4 supreme placings to ALL Rocklee does in the process 🙈 After that I carried on down south to go visit Gingerbread Rats and on Sunday we went to the NFRS Tempsford & Self show where I sat (and PASSED!!!) my written judging assessment and had the best day with all my southern friends ❤️ I am now taking a well deserved month off showing as both the team and I need a bit of a rest.

The new kittens (Red and Flake) absolutely smashed their first outing into the big wide world and I’m so so proud of them! Bonnie is now a NFRS Pet Champion, just in time for her retirement at the end of the month to hopefully have some lovely kittens in the autumn time 🥺🍂🍁

Days 10 and 12 for Jupiter’s kittens 💙

Unfortunately we have lost two of Barracuda’s kittens on day 5. Sadly this is the less pleasant side of breeding and I am quite gutted about it but it is what it is. Very thankful for the remaining kittens and hope they continue to thrive 🖤

Days 6 and 8 for Jupiter’s kittens. Lots of pigment coming through and it is becoming clear that Jupiter has not obliged to my request for a mostly BBA litter 🤦‍♀️

Days 2 and 4 for Barracuda’s kittens. I was very obviously wrong about the varieties in her litter wasn’t I 🙈 Those two pale pink eyed babies were not something I expected to pop up!
