This is Missy.
Missy has a teachable moment for us today.
Missy was rescued as a pup two young to be away from its mother by one of our wonderful team. She's reached her retirement years and is not the menace to society she once was.
This is a concerning moment for any pet owner and causes a lot of introspection - is the quality of life there? Can I afford the medication? Am I prolonging the inevitable?
People start to compare the good old days of their youth to the retirement years.
But just because they don't need three hours walking a day anymore doesn't mean that the half hour they get out at the park isn't a joyful time for them. It doesn't mean they don't now enjoy the extra time snoozing in the sun at home.
Dogs are social creatures and enjoy company just as much as exercise and entertainment.

Just like we will age and become less active it doesn't mean we are less happy - In your 20s a movie on the sofa with your sister doesn't seem nearly as appealing as going out clubbing and yet in your 40s, heaven and hell swap places!!

After a thorough examination with a vet Missy was given a clean bill of health and her owners mind was put at ease that there's 'life in the old dog yet'. She was also offered a cheaper alternative to some medicine which will help ease the aging of joints and the pain it can cause.
If in any doubt whatsoever, seek medical advice for your pet and put your mind at rest.
