Muzzle training isn’t about labeling a dog as “dangerous” — it’s about setting them up for success.

As a trainer, I see muzzles as a tool for safety, communication, and confidence building. When introduced properly, a muzzle can reduce stress for both dog and handler, create space for training, and prevent situations from escalating.

The key? Positive conditioning.
A muzzle should mean good things: treats, calm experiences, and trust — never fear or force.

Responsible ownership isn’t about pretending challenges don’t exist. It’s about managing them thoughtfully while you work on long-term behavior change.

Train the dog in front of you. Advocate for them. And don’t be afraid to use the tools that help them thrive.

Meet the regulars 🐾

First up… Duke.
Or Dukey boy as I call him.

I met Duke not long after he landed in his new home. He hadn’t had much exposure to the world yet and was pretty unsure about… well, everything. Life was overwhelming, especially people and other dogs.

Dukes lack of exposure presented in explosive reactivity, trying to keep the world at a distance.

But week by week, something shifted.

He learned how to be around other dogs.
He learned how to work with people.
And instead of pushing the world away, he started leaning into it.

Watching his confidence grow and seeing him learn how to just be a dog has honestly been magical.

He’s easily one of my favourite dogs I’ve worked with, because I’ve watched that transformation happen right in front of me. 💛🐶

The OG boy is 13! He’s the sweetest old man around who’s the happiest of chaps ❤️📷

My favourite part about dog training is the community you can build.

Everyone attending group class has their own goals in mind, but the recurring theme is the community of support that follows.

As someone who didn’t have that support network when starting my training journey it’s super important to me that everyone feels welcome, safe and most importantly has fun cause training your dog should be fun!

Wanna join pop me a dm ☺️
