Buckle up… it’s a long one! 🐾💖🩵
Our debut weekend out as Cockney Rejects — and what a weekend it was!
Cockney Rejects took 3rd place in the Open team with Minty, Lenny, Maudie, Vinnie, Charlie and Flash. After running all season as a set team, we made a massive change and threw two new dogs into this team! Was this a bad idea? Absolutely not! It was a new challenge and they absolutely smashed it. Not only did they take 3rd place, but they also set a shiny new PB of 18.72 for COCKNEY REJECTS! 🤩🔥
Let’s recap… this team started the season running 24 seconds and have now shaved a massive 5 seconds off their first race of the season! 🤯 We also saw Roy bring his A game, with his starts absolutely on fire! 🔥 The Moonies magic definitely followed us! ✨
Saturday also saw the oldest member of our team, Flash, finish his Flyball career where he started it back in August 2016 at Shooting Stars Cowgate. We watched him race with absolutely everything he had left, giving it his all to help our Open team bring home the win. Once he finished racing, he had his own retirement race and then walked out of the ring underneath the arch of all our fellow Flyball friends. It was such a special and emotional way to finish an incredible career. ❤️🥹
Our Foundation teams also had an absolutely incredible weekend! Cockney Ruffians — Bowie, Oscar, Remi & Nyx — took 1st place! This collie team was on fire, and we saw every single dog give their absolute everything. We even saw each of them improve so much that some were running on the Flyball box! The improvements from each dog have been amazing to watch. Well done Ruffians — 100% clean runs! ❤️🔥
Cockney Rampage — Alice, Dolly, Darci & Louie — also took 1st place! This team has worked so hard on their box work, and we are so pleased to say that each dog spent the day racing while performing perfect box turns! They were incredible to watch, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. 98% clean runs ❤️
We also had some ring time with Penelope 🫛. We haven’t spent as much time as we would have liked with our little pea, but this weekend she showed us exactly what an amazing Flyball dog she is going to be. She came to ring time very quietly, but as soon as she got into the ring she stepped it up a notch! She was doing a box turn on the shoot and chasing her owner back down the lane. This little Whippet is definitely going to be one to watch! 🫛👀
We can honestly say this season has been incredible. From new PBs and rosettes to watching our teams grow in confidence, ability and passion for this sport, we couldn’t be prouder of what everyone has achieved. 💖🩵
