Did you know that dogs can donate blood? 🩸

Every day, dogs across the UK need lifesaving blood transfusions following accidents, surgeries, illnesses, and emergencies. It's thanks to incredible donor dogs and their owners that so many dogs can get access to the lifesaving blood they desperately need ❤️

One of those donor dogs is Leo, who recently gave his 12th blood donation with Pet Blood Bank UK 🐶 For owner Diane, registering Leo as a donor has been a simple way to give back and help others when they need it most:

'Watching Leo run into the clinic, tail wagging as if he owns the place, makes me so proud. He takes it all in his stride, happily accepts the cuddles (and, of course, the treats!), never knowing just how many lives he helps. To me, he’s my best friend, my shadow and my heart. To another family, he’ll always be an unseen hero.'

We are proud to host Pet Blood Bank UK donation sessions here at our practice. Even if you're worried about how your dog might find it, it's worth coming along to see for yourself.
