Yesterday Nissa went and competed at the Great British Grooming Show in Leigh, Manchester ✂️🐩

We are super proud to say that Nissa & Arthur the Miniature Poodle came away with an amazing 2nd Place in the Clipper Only class!

For anyone wondering what “Clipper Only” means...you can use any breed or crossbreed of dog you like and you can use clippers, trimmers, combs and brushes, but you are not allowed to touch the coat with scissors at all 👀 Which is incredibly difficult considering Nissa uses curved scissors every single day in the salon!

This was actually Nissa’s first ever Clipper Only competition and she had only practised the groom once beforehand, so we are incredibly proud of the result ❤️ Arthur really was such a superstar all day.

A huge thank you as always to his owner Elizabeth Allen for trusting us with Arthur and allowing Nissa to compete with him. It genuinely means the world when owners trust us with their dogs at competitions and support our journey like this 🫶

Nissa also entered two creative model dogs yesterday — Skittles the Zebra and Mintabella the Asian Fusion dog. Unfortunately no placings this time, but the standard was absolutely incredible and the model dog class was huge!

"Aright my loverrrss" 🚜🥇🥈

Coming back from Supergroom in Somerset, I was sat in the car with my friend Gemma and she said…

“You actually started your training about 5 years ago to this date”

And it just hit me. Because I still remember being on day 3 and questioning whether I could even do this.

Fast forward to now…

1st Place at Supergroom with Mabel in the Pure Breed Workshop class 🥹🐩🏆

2nd Place Asian Model Dog 🥈

My first ever first at an in-person competition.
I’ve been working on this groom since November.

And what makes this even bigger… this is the first time I’ve ever fully hand scissored a dog.

I’ve never even done it in the salon to practise — I just went in and did it. But I have been putting the work in behind the scenes, hand sc******ng my model dogs for the past year.

This isn’t luck — I’ve worked really bloody hard for this and I listen to every single bit of feedback I get from groomers and judges 🙏🏻

It also feels like such an honour to achieve this at a South West competition, being from Devon — this one really means a lot! ❤️🥹

When my name got called for 1st, I was honestly in shock — I didn’t even know what to do! 🤣

A massive thank you to my amazing friend Gemma who trained me those 5 years ago! Gemma did incredible with her gorgeous Schnauzer Myrtle and received some really lovely feedback in her tough Asian class! You're smashing it too! 👏🏻

An incredible honour to be placed 1st by the amazing Georgia Ashton Fuller who has been my icon since I started, and the biggest thank you for the lovely feedback!

Mabel & her mum… you already know 🫶🏼🩷 Mabel was the best she's ever been for me and I think she knew we were going to win the class even though I didn't! 🤣

It was so lovely to see so many grooming friends on the day — you all did amazing! And we even made a new friend too 🫶🏼

Thank you to everyone who’s supported me (my hubby, my mum, my friends & grooming friends, my family) too many to tag but I love you all 🩷

I’ve also found out I’ve placed in an online competition this weekend too, so it’s been a pretty special one 🥹

Lenny’s owner was so grateful to us for taking care of her lovely cat. We clipped his nails, removed any matts he had and gave him a thorough deshed groom to make him feel much more comfortable.

Shih Tzu x Maltese… and honestly, just pure cuteness with that impressive head tilt 😂

An unforgettable weekend for Team Cloud K9 at Crufts! 🏆

This year marked the very first Crufts Dog Grooming Championships, and it was such an incredible part of history for us to be part of 💚

A massive congratulations to Drew, who achieved 3rd Place with Alfie the Miniature Schnauzer in her intermediate class. At just 19 years old, and after 2 years and 9 months of grooming, this is an outstanding achievement! 👏🏻

Drew trained underneath Nissa here at Cloud K9 Professional Grooming, and seeing her step into the ring and then walk into the main arena for the presentation was such a proud moment for the whole team 😍

She completed a beautiful breed-standard clipped schnauzer groom, and we couldn’t be prouder of how she represented Cloud K9 🏆

Nissa also competed in the championships with Toy Poodle Mabel, who was an absolute superstar on the day. The class was huge, with around 40 talented competitors, so we were honestly just thrilled to be part of such an incredible line-up of talented groomers and to step into the Crufts competition ring 🩷

A huge thank you to the owners of both dogs for trusting us and allowing them to take part. They were both amazing and did so well on such a big stage 🙏🏻

Weekends like this remind us why we love what we do — pushing ourselves, learning from the best in the industry, and proudly representing Cloud K9 Professional Grooming on such an amazing stage ✨

And if you happen to have a miniature schnauzer… you know who to call — Drew is phenomenal at this groom and she will only get better! 😜
