The Vale Veterinary Centre is a new veterinary practice serving the Vale of Glamorgan. We provide both routine and emergency veterinary care 24 hours a day. We have all the tools to provide the very best care for your pet including digital X-Ray system, ultrasound scanner and blood analysers. Our clients benefit from both routine and emergency house calls 24 hours a day. We are a local, family run

business and your pet is guaranteed to see the same vet every time you visit the practice or greet us at your door, 24 hours a day. We aim to provide a unique and bespoke service which allows us to stand apart from the care your pet may currently receive elsewhere. We have used local businesses in our construction and development phase and provide and endorse locally sourced pet foods and pet related services we trust. Please note our routine opening hours, however, if you have a pet related emergency outside of these normal opening hours then please call 01446 739739 to contact the 'on call' veterinary surgeon, 24 hours a day.

Rabbits require a lot of time and care but can make rewarding pets. If you are considering having a pet rabbit we strongly recommend doing research on their welfare requirements. The posters below show examples of indoor and outdoor set-ups.

📍 MICROCHIPPING CATS 📍

Microchipping cats became law in England on 10th June 2024. Cats must therefore be microchipped by 20 weeks. There is a £500 fine if this is not met. Cats protection are currently campaigning for this to be put in place in Wales.

Even if you have an indoor cat it is extremely important to microchip because they will not know how to return home if they escape.

Any change of owner details must be updated with the microchip company as soon as possible. Microchipping is the best way of reuniting lost and found pets.

📍 MICROCHIPPING DOGS 📍

Microchipping became compulsory on 6th April 2016.

UK breeders must microchip puppies by 8 weeks old and register as the first owner on a government approved microchip database. There is a fine of £500 if this is not met.

New owners must contact the appropriate microchip company to update details. Or if the dog is not chipped they must arrange to have this done immediately.

Any change of address or contact details must be updated as soon as there is a change.
