Thank you for all the well wishes and offers of help, truly humbled and touched by them all. I am home now, still low on heamaglobin but out the danger zone and to keep an eye on it. At least I can stand up again without almost collapsing straight away. Luckily we had a weeks break planned so I can take it easy for a week. Thank you all once again. 🙏

Up until recently we took any Scottish notes we received and spent them at cash and carry as customers did not want them as change. The cash and carry no longer accepts them as they cannot detect forgeries on Scottish notes. So we took some to the Post office to bank with other cash. They refused the Scottish notes as, again, they are unable to identify forgeries. A trip to town and NatWest did exchange them for English notes. The upshot is as a business we can now no longer accept Scottish notes as it’s too much trouble to get them changed assuming they are genuine, which we have no idea. Bad enough looking out for forged English notes.

Thank you to all who chuck spare change into the “Barrow Hedgehog Rescue” charity collection pot in the pet shop. Just done a count ready for handover and there is £49.25 not bad considering the impact credit and debit cards are having on charity pots. We have also sold a few packs of Christmas cards which raised another £37.50 ( we still have 3 packs of cards left if any one wants any, cash only please for these)
