🥵 HEATWAVE HOUNDS 🥵
It's been an unusually hot one for us this week and naturally we've all been worried about our pups in this heat.
If you have a dog who isn't a massive fan of keeping themselves hydrated with plain water, here are a few little tips to get them to take more water on board and keep their bodies in peak condition, as the months continue to get warmer...
🦴 Use a dog-specific bone broth or make your own minus the salt, onions, or garlic
🐟️ Add the spring water from a can of tuna to their usual water (make sure it's in water, not oil or brine)
🍓 Steep pup-safe fruits like blueberries, strawberries, or melon in their water bowl and strain well before serving
🧊 Freeze dog-safe broths or pureed fruits into ice cubes and drop them in their usual water bowl
🥥 Offer small amounts of 100% natural, unsweetened coconut water, also rich in electrolytes
💦 Remember to also offer a bowl of plain water alongside all of the above
💙 If you forget to bring any water to Waggy Tails Meadow for your four-legged friend, our lovely neighbours at North Devon Hospice offer dog bowls with fresh water in their Terrace Cafe (cakes and human drinks also available!)
