☀️ HOT WEATHER UPDATE ☀️
Due to the extreme temperatures the past few days, we have made the decision to cancel all riding lessons again for the safety and wellbeing of our horses, riders, and staff.
Horses struggle significantly in hot weather because they are large animals that generate a huge amount of body heat during exercise. Unlike people, they cannot cool themselves efficiently, and they rely heavily on sweating to regulate their temperature. In high heat and humidity, they can quickly become dehydrated, overheat, and be at risk of heat stress or heat exhaustion.
Even light exercise can put unnecessary strain on them in these conditions, so we feel it is safest and fairest to give them another days rest.
However tomorrow, the weather is looking cooler and overcast so riding will be back up and running. We looking forward to seeing everyone over the weekend.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support — horse welfare will always come first 💛🐴
