A massive thank you to everyone that contributed to Neil's Legacy fund raising money for Support Dogs, remembering all the amazing help he gave to dogs and their humans. We raised a huge £3467 which is a testimony to how many people have been blessed by Neil's knowledge and guidance over the years. Thank you. 🐾🐾

🐾 Behaviour Visit – Suzy the Dachshund 🐾

We recently visited Suzy and her owners to work through some challenging behaviours, including anxiety, barking, difficulty settling and biting.

❤️ Our priority is helping Suzy feel safer, more confident and better equipped to cope with everyday life, while keeping everyone safe.

We discussed some key areas to focus on:

🏡 Structure & Boundaries – Creating consistent rules and routines at home.

😌 Anxiety & Settling – Helping Suzy relax and feel more secure.

🐶 Independence – Gradually building confidence when spending time apart from her owners.

🔔 Barking & Reactivity – Understanding her triggers and working on calmer responses.

🐕 Walks & Training – Building confidence through controlled exposure, reward-based training and suitable mental stimulation.

🌱 The goal? Not just to change Suzy’s behaviour, but to understand why she is struggling and help her feel more comfortable in the world around her.

Behaviour change takes time, patience and consistency. There are no overnight fixes, but with the right support and careful management, we can work towards making life safer and happier for Suzy and her family.

A big thank you to Suzy’s owners for their honesty and commitment to helping her. ❤️

🐾 RUBY’S TRAINING JOURNEY – PUTTING THE TRAINING TO THE TEST! 💪❤️

We’re back with an update on Ruby, the intelligent and powerful working-line Rottweiler who has been working with Mike and Rachel through our 1-to-1 training sessions! 🐕‍🦺

Last time, we shared how Ruby and her owners were making great progress with their handling, engagement and impulse control. Now it’s all about continuing to build on those foundations and helping them become more consistent in everyday situations.

With dogs like Ruby, who are strong-minded, driven and easily excited by certain distractions, it’s not just about teaching the dog what to do. It’s equally important to help owners understand how to communicate clearly, recognise what their dog is telling them and make the right decisions in the moment.

🐾 So, what are we working towards?

✅ Better engagement with her owners, even when distractions are present.

✅ More controlled responses around other dogs.

✅ Improved impulse control, especially around exciting rewards like balls.

✅ Clearer communication through the lead.

✅ Helping Mike and Rachel feel confident managing Ruby in real-world environments.

One of the most rewarding parts of training is seeing the relationship between dog and owner develop alongside the training itself. Every step forward, however small, helps build a stronger foundation for the future. ❤️

A huge well done to Mike, Rachel and Ruby for continuing to put the work in. Keep going — progress comes from the little things you practise every day! 👏🐾
