🐾 Some happy pictures of our own Rosie cooling off on a hot day! 🌞
Rosie was attacked sadly by another dog at the weekend 😢 physically she is fine 🙏 but she is currently a little wary of small dogs 🐾
This is disappointing as she has such a lovely temperament and had done nothing wrong.
She is also a show dog and the last thing I want is a nervous dog, so I will be working with her to ensure she overcomes this experience.
This was human error wanting their dog to make friends while on lead, despite being told no 😡
As an owner and dog walker I am so tired of seeing and hearing about this type of incident.
I understand reactive dogs, all dogs like us have off days, different temperaments, we may not realise why they are having an off day as they are very good at hiding pain, a lot of reactive dogs have had negative experiences with others.
Reactive dogs need to be out and about to see the world and other dogs BUT they need to be under control!
It is not ok as an owner to allow a reactive dog to be off lead and loose to do what it wants 😡
It is not ok to allow a reactive dog to be on an extendable lead and allowed to make full use of the length to run out and attack a dog 😡
It is not ok to assume that it is ok to wade in to another on lead dogs space and let them make friends 😡
Dog walking etiquette and some basic manners and common sense would make things a little better 😊
Please just try and think and be considerate 😊 🐾
Work on your recall and engagement with your dog!
Put down the phone!
Put your dog on lead if asked by another dog walker!
Give space!
Make sure your dog is wearing a collar so that they can be caught hold of if necessary!
Say sorry when things go wrong as things do 😊
