🐶Parvovirus is widespread, life-threatening & highly contagious.⚠️

Cases are seen frequently in unvaccinated dogs due to the ability of the virus to survive in the environment for over a year with resistance to commonly used disinfectants and freezing temperatures.

The best way to protect your dog is with regular vaccinations throughout their life. Unvaccinated dogs are at risk and it is usually fatal without intensive treatment. Check with your vet today if your dog’s vaccinations are up to date.

Heat health warnings in the UK this week - check out advice from the British Veterinary Association - BVA on how to take some extra precautions to keep your pets safe

⚠️ Keep your dogs safe in this heat and avoid walks in the middle of the day - stick to early mornings or late evenings to prevent sunstroke and overheating.

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we have created a lending library at the practice. Please feel free to browse the contents and take a book to read, and to drop off books you've read and don't need anymore for other people to enjoy! Johnny enjoys doing wood work projects, he has made this amazing lending library cabinet.

Tips for how to beat the heat

😎 Cool dog summer looks like:
1. Checking pavements won't burn paws
2. Dawn and dusk walkies when it's cooler, embracing sunrises and sunsets
3. Haircuts on point
4. Sunscreen on pale skin
5. Lots of drinking water
6. Paddling pools and sprinklers
7. Frozen treats and damp towels

This summer, a little kindness goes a long way. Show us your cool pup pics below!
