The hardest and worst part of a job we absolutely love is saying goodbye and this one hits incredibly hard. It was sudden, and it came much too soon.
Hobo! What a boy, and what a journey we have been blessed to share with you. We are so endlessly grateful to his truly amazing family he hit the absolute jackpot getting adopted by you guys! 🐾
When we were first called in for training, this “big, scary boy” was a total menace he literally went from wanting to eat us in that first training session to being our best friend eventually! We can only laugh looking back at it now, because he truly ended up being the biggest, softest teddy bear.
Emma, in particular, he formed an extra close bond with, but his love for Ellie and Sam was so evident for everyone to see, too.
Training turned into daycare, and we’ve had the absolute pleasure of having him in our lives for the past few years.
The heartbreak of it all is how fast it happened. He was just in daycare last Wednesday when Sam noticed a worrying lump, and the decline from there was so rapid. Through all their own pain, Hobo’s family kept us updated every step of the way. They invited us over to say our goodbyes, let us spoil him with toys and Maccy D’s, and even brought him into daycare so his friends could say their final goodbyes. We couldn’t be more grateful to them for that kindness. It meant the absolute world to us.
Fly high, Hobes. You will be so very missed, special boy. 💙🐾💙
