Please remember that many popular plants and flowers can be toxic to your pet such as Lillies, Chrysanthemum, Daffodil bulbs, Poppies and many more.

𝗡𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗿𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 🐑

The Nematodirus risk for our area is now high according to the SCOPS forecast.

If your lambs are grazing pasture that carried lambs last spring AND you answer yes to more or more of these questions, your lambs are at risk and you should act:

🌾Are they eating significant amounts of grass? (generally 6-12 weeks)
💩 Do you have groups where there is also likely to be a challenge from coccidiosis? For example, mixed aged lambs are a higher risk
🥶 Has there been a sudden, cold snap recently followed by a period of warm weather.
🐑 Are there lambs under other stresses e.g. triplets, fostered, on young or older ewes?

There are many different health benefits to neutering your pet which is why we are offering 𝟭𝟱% 𝗼𝗳𝗳 neutering this month.

Last week we had a dog in as her owner noticed that she had not been herself. She came in to see our vet Aidan who diagnosed her with a pyometra. Pyometra is a serious and potentially fatal infection of the uterus. This condition can be fatal without urgent treatment and surgery. The second picture is of a normal uterus compared to the last picture which shows an infected uterus.

𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝘆𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿:
😴Lethargy or unusual behaviour
💦 Increased thirst and urination
🤮 Vomiting or loss of appetite
🏥 Abdominal swelling
⚠️ Vaginal discharge (though this is not always present)

This little woman was found on tbe Main Street in Bellaghy. She unfortunately has no microchip so we have no way to find her owners.
