🐾 FLEAS ARE ON THE RISE! 🦟

We’ve recently seen an increase in flea outbreaks in our small animal consultations. The recent hot, humid weather has created ideal conditions for fleas to thrive! ☀️💧

⚠️ Seeing fleas on your pet is only the tip of the iceberg!
The majority of an infestation can be hiding in your home — carpets, bedding, furniture and more. Your pet and the home environment will need to be treated.

Fleas can cause intense itching and flea allergic dermatitis (FAD) in pets, and can also result in flea bites to humans.

✅ Prevention is key! Make sure flea treatment is:
• The correct product for your pet
• Given at the correct time
• Kept up to date

Thanks to any clients who had to rearrange their appointments this morning. Our emergency vets started their morning early with an emergency caesarian. Mum and 3 healthy pups are all safe and sound and back home.

This lovely dog was found this evening in Rasharkin, unfortunately no microchip so no direct way of getting back to it's owners.

Currently safe in the care of Benvardin Animal Rescue Kennels.

If you own or recognise this little one, please contact Benvardin.

🌟Microchipping is SO important to ensure dogs can be reunited with their owners. And important to note this is also a LEGAL requirement in Northern Ireland, in order to obtain your dog licence. You also must ensure the microchip is registered to you, and your details are kept up-to-date. 🌟

If your dog is not microchipped, please get in contact with the practice and we can organise this for you.📞

Please note the clinic will be CLOSED on Monday 13th July for the bank holiday.

Our 24hr emergency service will operate as normal, so do not hesitate to contact for any urgent emergencies!

Please also ensure any medications due to run out before Tuesday are ordered by Friday!

Clinic open as normal again on Tuesday 14th July.
