‼️Urgent foster Appeal ‼️

This beautiful boy is Zac he is 10 years old and sadly his owner has passed away😞 we would love to find him a foster home to relax in and avoid using kennels due to his age…

He is fine with other dogs and cats

If you could give Zac a safe place to relax in after this horrible change in his life please PM the page 🙏🏼

Twas a cold week wasn't it! Nice and dry and lovely blue skies, but definitely a wee bit nippy. We are looking forward to the sunshine bringing some heat 🙏🏼

Gorgeous wee Alfie (dachshund) is loving life, lots of play and cuddles and cuteness. He's had a couple of mates round to visit this past week or two, we've been quite busy with the odd daycare session and sleepover, bit of a revolving door but it's been fun and enjoyable, and now we're having a quiet few days.

Visits from: beautiful Meg (golden retriever pup), little Alfie (mini Yorkie) came to meet us, gorgeous Rosie our regular cockapoo chum, lovely Amber (cockapoo), handsome little Rafa our regular daycare dude (cavachon), stunning Peaches (golden retriever) came round a couple of times to keep Bobby company on forest walks, and beautiful little Bailey (cockapoo) came to chill for an evening.

Visits to: Rocky the wee cutie (miniature schnauzer pup), handsome big Murphy (lab cross) and his neighbour-bestie the equally-as-handsome Ollie (chocolate lab), Thor the gorgeous French Bulldog, and Abbie (cute cockapoo) and her sister Zia (beautiful Vizsla) for garden visits as wee Zia is on rest after her spay.

All in all a busy but fun week, as always time spent with these lovely dogs is time that is very enjoyable. Sitting here listening to Alfie's wee snores 💤 while I catch up on Reacher. Have a lovely weekend everyone 💙🐾

Hi everyone! Posting this for anyone who comes across my page looking for a home-from-home boarder, as I've had an influx of enquiries lately - everybody booking their summer holidays, so exciting ☀️✈️. I am always happy to reply to enquiries on the off-chance that I will have availability, but in case I can't cover your dates, below is my advice...

Some dogs are better suited to a small home boarding set up, some fare better in kennels with their own space, some might be more comfortable with a petsitter in the dogs own home. Each to their own, all dogs are different. When looking at home boarders, there is a huge variety, a big variance in services provided, and it can be daunting trying to find the right one. And most book up well in advance, especially during the school holidays.

Here's what I would be asking when researching which home boarder to choose, hope it's helpful:

📍 Location - is it easy to travel to, for meet & greet, trial, holiday, and also for your emergency contact to get to if needed?

🏡 Premises - is it clean, dog-proofed, secure?

🐶 Do they offer a Meet & Greet and a Trial? - get a feel for the place, see if your dog settles ok

👩🏼 Experience - do they have their own dogs, do they have experience with your dog's breed, if there are medical issues or age issues (senior/pup) do they have appropriate experience?

📄 Insurance and First Aid - hopefully nothing will go wrong but better to have the reassurance

❤️ Reviews and Recommendations - might not always possible, eg, if it's a new business, but try to speak to someone who has used them or another local dog professional who knows them (dog walker, dog groomer) - the best recommendation comes directly from someone who has used them before, whose dog came home happy, clean, healthy and well-loved and cared for

📸 Evidence - look at their socials for videos and photos of daily life in their home, see what kind of stay your pet will have with them

🐾 Exercise - do they have a yard, garden, field - is this secure? Do they walk the dog daily (if that's what its usual routine is - where will this be, will it be on lead)? Or an alternative, a good run around, enrichment activities and boredom busters...

💤 Where will your dog sleep? If your dog is crate trained, do you bring your own crate? If it doesn't use a crate, where is its safe/secure space if it needs it? If your dog usually sleeps on the sofa or in the bed with you, can they accommodate this?

🍲 Feeding routine - can they maintain your dogs feeding routine? (Some won't feed raw food, some can't accommodate 'grazers', or may need to make adjustments to provide for this)

🛋️ If your dog will be left alone at any stage, how long would this be for, and where would it be kept? (If your dog has separation anxiety and can't be left alone for even 5 minutes, let the home boarder know!)

🤳🏼 How often will you get updates? I tend to send daily updates, I like to take lovely photos as a memento of your pet's holiday with me. Some people prefer less, have a quick discussion at the meet & greet to make sure you get the communication you want

📞 What if your dog doesn't settle, or has any issues? Under what circumstances will they use an emergency contact?

🐕 How many other dogs will be there when your dog is there? Do they have daycare clients mixing with boarding clients? How will they be introduced? What if they don't interact well together, can they be separated?

There's a lot to think about when leaving your dog with a stranger. Been there, done that. Have worried, have cried. It's a big responsibility, and should be prepared and planned for.

Make sure you are happy. Make sure your dog will be happy. Get organised well in advance and book in those meet & greets, trials, short stays, etc, so that when you go on holiday you can switch off and know that you will be coming home to a happy, healthy dog who has found it's second home 💙🐾

🗓️ As all of my regulars know, our availability is limited to start with, and we are pretty much fully booked for the rest of this year. We already have lots of enquiries for Christmas and for 2026, but our diary isn't open that far ahead just yet (need to plan our own trips first). I sadly have to say no to quite a few enquiries daily as I don't have the availability this year. We limit our numbers because the dogs stay in our home with our family, so we prefer to only have one or two guests at a time.

I am happy to send details of similar home boarders when I can't cover your dates, but a lot of them are also booked up well in advance. I can't stress it enough, please please book your home boarder (or petsitter, or kennels) when you are booking your holiday. We really hate saying no to anyone, but we simply can't accommodate all requests. Thanks 🫶🏼

Looking forward to the long weekend, an extra day off with the kids and hopefully the blue skies stick around. We've had some nice company this week and enjoyed a couple of lovely walks 🐾

Wee Alfie (dachshund) is still our long-term tenant, almost halfway through his holiday, settled into his second home well and made himself the boss of the house! He's really enjoying all the company, so long as he has his spot reserved on my knee or in my arms he's happy. He likes to come out on walks with us but his little legs need to rest so we make the most of our Lazy Legs sling.

Visits and walks with Meg (golden retriever pup), Rocky (miniature schnauzer pup), Thor (French Bulldog), Murphy (lab cross), Ollie (chocolate lab), Zia (Vizsla pup), Abbie (cockapoo), Fionn (cocker pup) and Arthur the cat 🐱

Visits from Rafa our regular daycare dude (cavachon), Rosie (cockapoo), and Murphy delighted us all by staying over - I don't know who was happiest, me, John, the kids or Bobby!

Lola is still plodding along, sleeping most of the time and having her daily bark out the window. Bobby is loving life 💙

Happy St Patrick's Dad weekend everyone 🍀🍻🐾

💙 Meg 💙

Beautiful golden retriever pup Meg, we've been to visit her before, and today was time for her to meet Bobby before her upcoming home stay with us.

Meg is gorgeous, and a very friendly pup. Her energy settled so quickly, she loved Bobby and he loved her, new friendship blossoming here and we love to see it.

Bobby and Lola are so good at welcoming visiting dogs into our home. We like to make sure to have a meet & greet with me, a trial with the kids and dogs, and then we progress to overnights. It's important that everyone feels comfortable, especially our kids and dogs, as it's their home.

Lola couldn't really care less which dog is here, so long as they give her space to sleep, she is more of a people-lover and just wants to meet the owners. Bobby can be excited with people but also wary (he was a pup during COVID lockdown - when we would have ideally been out getting him used to the world, people were locked up in their houses and the world was shut down 🙄) but he loves dogs, so long as it's his type of dog - as soon as he gets a friendly vibe, non-aggressive, happy to do a quick sniff-and-move-on, bit of play or watch out the window with him, he's happy. He's so good at sharing his space, his toys, his treats, his bed, his home and his people. He's great with older dogs, dogs with health problems or mobility issues, because he grew up with Lola. But he's also great with playful dogs who match his energy level - if it's too much, he'll stop engaging, he's good at giving space to dogs that need it and he's good at listening to and watching for the doggy communication and signals.

We're always so careful when introducing dogs and letting them get to know each other, we want them to be happy and content and also have fun and a good time. We know what works for us and our dogs, and we are so happy when we meet a good "match" - Meg definitely fits the bill, I think Bobby just sees her as Peaches Junior 🩷 (Peaches is his OG golden retriever bestie 🫶🏻)

March Magic 💙

We've had a great couple of weeks, good news in our family life, and lovely dogs to keep us company and bring more happiness into our home.

Wee Alfie is still home boarding with us, my wee sidekick who follows me everywhere (and when his little legs get tired I carry him everywhere). Misty had a sleepover, Leia had a sleepover, and wee Dexter is currently here for a couple of nights while his family had a last minute trip away.

We've had daycare with Rafa and Bella, visits to Rocky, Thor, Zia, Abbie, and big Murphy man. Lots of lovely company, lots of cuddles, and lots of content snoozing 🐾💙💤
