Recently we had the pleasure of caring for Loki, who visited our dental suite to undergo an oral health assessment. Dental health is a vital part of overall wellness for our pets, as plaque and tartar buildup can lead to gingivitis, periodontal disease, tooth loss, and even wider health concerns.

Loki was placed under general anaesthesia to ensure comfort and safety while allowing for a thorough oral examination. Each tooth was carefully scaled to remove plaque and tartar above and below the gumline, followed by polishing to smooth the enamel surface and help delay future buildup.

We’re happy to report that Loki is now sporting a clean, healthy smile!

Prevention is always better than cure! Early dental treatment can stop plaque and tartar buildup from developing into advanced dental disease, helping to keep more teeth healthy and reducing the need for extractions.

We recently said a very sad goodbye to a very special patient after 18 wonderful years.

Jinx 🐾🤍

It was a privilege for our team to care for her throughout her life. She was clearly adored and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Our thoughts remain with her family. Sleep peacefully, beautiful girl. 🌈

Louise💙Head Nurse Ayr

I love all aspects of nursing — from clinics and theatre to inpatient care — and I’m grateful to be part of our management group in a more administrative role. I also embrace the challenge of nurse rotas.

Five years at Dalblair have flown by, and I’m proud to be a part of the team. We have an amazing team, and I’m continually inspired by every colleague’s dedication and compassionate care.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey💙

🎉🐾 OFFICIALLY A GOLDEN OLDIE 🐾🎉

Menzies, who belongs to our Vet and Client Care Director Lorna is another year older, wiser… and even more committed to doing absolutely nothing all day unless food is involved😆

✨ Hobbies include:
☀️ Professional sunbathing
😴 Sleeping exclusively on Dog Mum (personal space is a myth)
🍽️ Hoovering up suspiciously “empty” plates & bowls left behind by the family
🍫 Hunting down forbidden chocolate crumbs like a tiny furry criminal mastermind

🚫 Strongly dislikes:
💅 Nail trims (an act of betrayal)
🐕 Most other dogs, except Cherry
📦 Delivery men existing near the house

Here’s to another year of barking at absolutely nothing, shedding on every item of clothing, & running the household like the entitled little monarch you are. 👑🐶

Happy 17th Birthday to our favourite golden oldie 🤍🎂

🌸 Spaying Your Pet 🌸

We understand how much you care about your pet, and we’re here to ensure their well-being every step of the way. If you’re considering spaying, aswell as traditional spaying we also offer laparoscopic spaying—a gentler, less invasive option that prioritises your pet’s comfort and quick recovery. 🐾

With laparoscopic spay, we use tiny incisions and a small camera to perform the procedure with great precision. This means:

💖 Less Pain: Smaller incisions result in a more comfortable healing process.
💖 Faster Recovery: Your pet will feel better sooner, so they can get back to playing and snuggling with you.
💖 Smaller wounds: reducing the risk of wound complications.

We know it’s not easy to entrust someone with your pet, but you can rest assured that our team treats every pet like their own 🙏

If you have questions or would like to learn more about laparoscopic spay, visit us at https://www.dalblairvets.com/service/neutering/ 💕🐶🐱
