Please please please DO NOT walk your dogs between 8am and 8pm as it’s far too hot for them. Walk them before work and after dinner.
Use cooling mats for cats and dogs. Always ensure plenty of water is available. Freeze cucumber or other tasty treats to help them cool down. Wet towels if they want to lay in the garden keep curtains closed in direct sunlight and open windows that aren’t in sunlight

Today is national receptionist day.
We have some fantastic front of house staff here at Aylesford vets for Pets.
You`ll all know Jay, Claire, Tina and Caroline, as well as the nursing team that help out.
If you`ve ever spent a day on reception you`ll appreciate how tough it can be. They`re the first port of call for clients and often deal with some really tough discussions and situations.
We appreciate that our lovely clients recognise how hard their jobs are and give them respect at all times.

Hedgehogs are coming out of hibernation and will be looking for safe places and food.
Please check for hedgehogs when lighting firs, cutting or strimming long grass.
Leave meat based food like cat or dog food out overnight with fresh water.
If possible use gapped fencing to allow access and escape, and provide a safe hedgehog house in shrubs for them.

Veterinary nurses are a vital role in the veterinary practice. As well as the fun parts of cuddling puppies and kittens, thats not where it ends. Theyre anaesthetists, radiologists, consultants, phlebotomists, carers and receptionists.
Their standard day can range from taking bloods and running them in house, giving TLC to inpatients, prepping and recovering patients for surgery, consulting with clients discussing flea products, weight clinics and much more, taking xrays and reporting to vets, nursing sick animals, supporting clients through loss and happiness, making tea for the vets and so much more.
