A little update on our booking & cancellation policy👇🏼

As of 1st October, we will be taking a 50% deposit upon booking. This can be done over the phone or via bank transfer.

If you cancel your pets appointment with more than 24 hours notice, then you can receive your deposit back or transfer it to a future booking.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or are a no-show, you will be required to pay the full price of the booking.

My Nan,

It only felt right to show you all a true inspiration and strong woman who I was lucky enough to have in my life.

Sadly, last Friday I had to say the hardest goodbye to my beautiful Nan.

I was definitely known for my love of animals and the granddaughter always bringing the “grand” dogs round to see her. They always loved going over, hoovering up any crumbs, raiding her recycling bin and covering her floor in water from their ears. A photoshoot of the dogs each time they visited to show the carers.

Thank you to all our lovely customers who have been so understanding when we’ve had to cancel and change appointments last minute. We will be in touch with everyone who has been affected. Just please bare with us as we navigate the next few weeks. There may be times we have to change appointments but we will be in touch as soon as possible.

To my lovely Nan. I hope I can continue to make you proud ❤️

Did you know that we offer show grooming, here at The Barking Brew? 🐾🤩

Our two resident dogs, Hudson and Flynn are known for their green carpet visits and can often be seen competing at Crufts!

Show grooming is done to the breed standard of the dog and we will work with you and the kennel club to get them in top condition for any show! 😍

Thinking about shaving your double-coated dog this summer?

It may seem like the best way to keep them cool, but shaving a double coat can actually harm your dog’s skin and coat. Here’s why:

Why not to shave a double coat?
❌ The undercoat insulates in both hot and cold weather
❌ Shaving disrupts natural temperature regulation
❌ Coat may grow back patchy, uneven, or thicker (making heat worse)
❌ Leaves skin exposed to sunburn and irritation

Instead:
✅ Regular de-shedding to remove loose undercoat
✅ Brushing to keep air circulating through the coat
✅ Professional grooming to keep your dog comfortable

Double-coated breeds (like Huskies, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Border Collies) don’t need a shave - they need the right grooming routine.
