🐾 Maternity Leave Update 🐾
Firstly, thank you all soo much for your lovely messages, congratulations, flowers and gifts! You are all so incredibly kind and thoughtful! ❤️
I just wanted to reassure everyone that I am still grooming as normal and, all being well, I plan to continue working until around Saturday 25th October. 🤞

I will then be taking maternity leave throughout November while we welcome the new addition. As most of you know, I'm very keen to get back to grooming as soon as it's sensible to do so, and if all goes to plan, I'm hoping to reopen part-time around mid to late December/January.
Of course, these dates may change slightly depending on baby and my recovery, but I wanted to let everyone know my current plan and reassure you that I won't be disappearing for months and months!

I'll be going through my diary over the coming weeks, and if your dog is due a groom just after I finish, I'll do my best to fit them in before I go.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I also have some lovely local groomer friends who have kindly offered to look after any dogs that need grooming while I am off. Their details are on my page if needed🙂

Thank you all soo much for your continued support and understanding and of course ill keep you posted on everything closer to the time 💛

Your dog's safety and comfort are always my top priority.
Please be assured that the salon has an air-con unit but I will be closely monitoring both the salon temperature and every dog's comfort throughout the day and the dryer heat will be switched off.

With temperatures rising, heatstroke is a very real danger and can be fatal for dogs! Please DO NOT walk your dog to their appointment and if your vehicle is not air-conditioned, I strongly recommend rearranging your appointment for a cooler day.

If you have any concerns at all about travelling with your dog in the heat, or if you would prefer to reschedule, please get in touch. I'd much rather move an appointment than put any dog at risk!

Hope you are all setting your alarms very early for walks this week and treat them to some hard chews and frozen treats to keep them occupied. Hope they stay as cool as they can!

Hi Everyone, as you can see I have some personal news to share that we'll be welcoming our newest family member around the beginning of November! 🤰

For those wondering what this means for grooming appointments, I am not 100% sure 😅My intention is to keep grooming for as long as I safely can. Knowing me, I'll probably finish a groom and then head off to the hospital. If my waters break mid-groom, I promise I'll finish the face trim first!!😆😆
That said I'll likely need to stop grooming some of my larger dogs a little earlier than the smaller ones but I'll keep everyone updated as we go and let you know of any changes!

Once the new addition arrives, I'm honestly not sure exactly how much time ill have off. My hope is to return as soon as it's practical, but I'll be working around recovery, family life and my husband's work schedule, so I'll have a clearer idea once the new addition is here. I'm also hoping to be able to do some Christmas appointments too 🤞

Unfortunately, this does sadly mean I won't be able to accommodate every dog when I return, and I may need to temporarily say goodbye to some of my lovely clients for a little while. However, I work within such a lovely industry and these lovely groomers have said they will look after and pamper your dogs whilst I am off which I am very grateful for so please see their details below:

I'm Tamara and this is Tilly, my inspiration for setting up this little business.
Having worked at Aylesbury Prison for the past 10 years, supporting the men to learn skills to help them move away from offending behaviour, I lost my job during a restructure.
I was devastated! Loved that job!
But sometimes these things happen for a reason, and during my anxiety about finding a new job, I thought about what I love doing.
Being outside, being with dogs, walking, its what I've always done..and it all dropped into place. So here I am, with our sassy little inherited Lancashire Heeler Chihuahua cross Tilly and the support of my wonderful family, building Tails and Trails.
