Meet Cade and Connie; two tiny agents of chaos wrapped up in adorable furry packaging.

Cade is the confident one. The self appointed CEO of Whatever Is Going On. He’s playful, funny, full of character, and firmly believes that every situation can be improved by sticking his nose in it. He loves being near his humans and will happily curl up next to you for cuddles. Being picked up, however? Absolutely not. He has standards.

Connie is his quieter sidekick. A little shy at first, a little reserved, but she comes around surprisingly quickly. Once she decides you’re acceptable, she’ll happily accept head rubs and gentle handling. In fact, she’s so sneaky about affection that you’ll suddenly realise she’s appeared on your lap without warning and has no intention of leaving.

Together they’re playful, entertaining, and guaranteed to keep you laughing. One brings the confidence, one brings the stealth, and both bring enough kitten nonsense to keep life interesting.

🚨🐾 CRACK THE KITTY CASE: CASE CLOSED 🐾🚨

After a lengthy investigation, several witness statements, and at least three accusations that the suspect was simply orange; the diagnosis is…CEREBELLAR HYPOPLASIA (CH)!

For those who guessed correctly, congratulations. You may now add Facebook Veterinary Detective to your CV.

📂 What is Cerebellar Hypoplasia?

CH occurs when the cerebellum (the part of the brain responsible for coordination and balance) doesn’t fully develop. The result? Wobbly walking, head tremors, dramatic attempts at jumping, the occasional accidental face plant, a lifetime membership to Team Chaotic

The important thing to know is that CH is not painful, not contagious, and does not get worse over time. These cats can live long, happy, healthy lives while looking like they’ve just stepped off the roundabout ride at the park. In fact, most CH cats don’t realise they’re any different. They’re too busy causing chaos and demanding snacks.

Can we all agree that rescue is hard enough without the playground politics?

Every day we deal with sick animals, abandoned animals, injured animals, emergency vet visits, fundraising nightmares, mountains of paperwork, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with trying to save lives. The last thing anyone in rescue needs is drama. This should be about the animals. Always.

Yet somehow, instead of helping, some people have chosen to spend their time making accusations, claiming they have ‘evidence’, insisting we’ve done horrific things, and predicting our downfall for what feels like the 847th time.

The strange part? We still haven’t seen this mysterious evidence. Not a screenshot. Not a document. Not a witness statement. Not even a blurry photo taken from behind a hedge. Just endless claims.

We’ve invited people to sit down for a coffee and discuss any concerns like adults. Ignored. We’ve asked for evidence. Ignored. We’ve sent cease and desist letters. Ignored.

The RSPCA have attended, carried out their enquiries, left satisfied, and closed the case. Yet somehow the people making the accusations know more than the organisation that actually investigated. Interesting.

The reality is that if someone genuinely cared about animal welfare, the first step would be speaking to the rescue involved. Not months of Facebook detective work and cryptic comments worthy of a low budget crime documentary. We’re not interested in fighting. We’re interested in helping animals.

So while others spend their time writing fan fiction about Mini Beasts Rescue, we’ll continue doing what we’ve always done; rescuing animals, supporting owners, cleaning litter trays, getting peed on, getting bitten occasionally, and wondering why we didn’t take up a less stressful hobby. Like lion taming.

As always, our door remains open for genuine conversations. The kettle is on. The coffee is ready.

Little Cindy has been with us for nearly a week and she’s already tired of the trolls. We feel ya Cinds.

📖 The Diary of Fred
Entry 33: Week 37 - Therapy, Mentorship & Petty Revenge

Dear Diary,

This week I have continued my important work as mentor, role model, and all round legend. I have graciously allowed Frank to follow me around everywhere. Every king needs an apprentice, and every apprentice needs an idol.

Luckily for Frank, I am available.

I have taken my responsibilities seriously, making sure he has someone to look up to as he continues his fight to survive. Whenever he follows me, I walk a little taller. Not because I’m proud. Because I know I’m being watched. I am shaping young minds.

Unfortunately, the humans have been emotional this week. I noticed Sim leaking water from her eyes whilst worrying about Frank. Naturally, I provided therapy cuddles. I climbed onto her lap, purred, and stayed close until she felt better. Then, once the session was complete, I moved onto therapy suckling her neck fat. A true professional knows aftercare is important.

Another major development - Temu Fred has left the building. The intruder is gone. The identity thief. The budget knock off. The discount version of greatness. I won’t lie, I miss having someone to supervise and silently judge. But it is nice knowing there is once again only one Fred in residence.

As it should be.

The weather has also been glorious, so I spent plenty of time outside enjoying the sunshine and, more importantly, the children’s paddling pool.

Life was perfect. Until Sim removed me from it. Rude. I considered my options and decided there was only one reasonable response. I popped the pool. If I can’t have the pool, nobody can. Justice was served.

In summary, I mentored the youth, provided therapy services, reclaimed my position as the only Fred, and ensured fairness prevailed in the pool dispute.

End of log.

I am not just Fred the kitten.

I am Fred - mentor, therapist, pool destroyer, and the original model.

🐾 Frank Update 🐾

Firstly, we want to reassure everyone that whatever steps we take going forward will always be in Frank’s best interests. We will continue to fight for Frank for as long as Frank is willing and able to fight himself.

At the moment, he is being monitored around the clock by his foster family. He has heat pads, good quality food, plenty of medication, and more people worrying about him than Frank himself seems aware of.

Since starting his antibiotics and medication, he does appear brighter in himself. He’s more alert, more engaged with his surroundings, and showing us little glimpses of the kitten we’d hoped to see all along. We’re cautiously optimistic and keeping everything crossed that the medication is helping to treat whatever is going on, rather than simply masking it.

The next step will be a second round of testing, after which we will reassess the situation with our veterinary team. For now, we are taking things one day at a time. Nothing is being rushed. Nothing is being decided on a whim. Nothing is being taken lightly.

Frank is not just a number and never has been. Neither is any animal that comes through our doors. Every single furry in our care becomes part of the MB family, and they receive the best care, love, attention and advocacy we can possibly give them.

Frank may only weigh 400g, but he currently carries the hopes, prayers and emotional stability of an entire rescue on his tiny shoulders.

As always, we’ll continue to keep everyone updated as we learn more. Until then, Frank remains blissfully unaware of the amount of people who are cheering him on and is instead focusing on the important things in life; eating, sleeping, and occasionally staring into space like he’s receiving messages from another dimension.

🌟 Success Story Sunday 🌟

Nearly a year ago, Mickey & Gaston left Mini Beasts Rescue and began their mission to infiltrate a family home. We are pleased to report that the operation has been a complete success.

Mickey has evolved into a Grade A cuddle addict. If there is a lap available, it’s his. If there isn’t a lap available, he will create one. His favourite place to sleep is on his human’s chest, ideally in a position that makes breathing mildly inconvenient.

Gaston has taken a different approach. He likes to maintain an air of mystery and independence; right up until he spots the youngest son, at which point he immediately cashes in his cuddle vouchers.

The boys have also discovered two great passions in life; destroying blinds and destroying replacement blinds. Their adopter reports that several blinds have already fallen victim to the boys’ artistic vision. Faux flowers and plants have also been targeted because apparently looking pretty is a crime. Despite the ongoing war against household décor, the boys have settled in beautifully and are adored beyond measure.

A year later, the furniture is questionable, the blinds are hanging on by a thread, and the fake plants live in constant fear.

But Mickey & Gaston are happy, loved, and exactly where they’re meant to be. ❤️

🕵️‍♀️🐾 CRACK THE KITTY CASE! 🐾🕵️‍♀️

Welcome to our brand new Saturday night series where you get to diagnose cats from the comfort of your sofa with absolutely none of the student debt.

Each week we’ll bring you a mystery case and a list of symptoms. You tell us what’s going on. It’s educational. It’s fun. It’s like being a detective or a vet, but without anyone handing you a bill afterwards.

📂 CASE NOTES

You’re fostering a 7 week old kitten. They have a few worrying symptoms, some of which include, walking as though they’ve just left the Catnip Arms after a 12 hour lock in, head bobbing like they’re permanently listening to a banger, a tendency to miss jumps despite being absolutely convinced they nailed it, the grace and coordination of a shopping trolley with one dodgy wheel and absolutely zero concern about any of the above.

Despite this, kitty is happy, healthy, playful, and living life at full speed, even if that speed is occasionally sideways.

So detectives, what’s your theory? Can you crack the case?

Drop your answers below. Bonus points for dramatic medical sounding explanations.

🚨 Please note - Orange Cat Syndrome is not an officially recognised diagnosis. Probably.

Answer will be revealed on Monday.

🚨 FOUND CAT - Is This Your Tiny Criminal? 🚨

Meet ‘Leila’. She has recently come into our care after a kind finder had been looking after her for a little while. The good news? Despite her fur feeling a little rough around the edges, Leila is in good health overall and is currently doing well. The bad news? She appears to have been moonlighting as a part time visitor and has reportedly been frequenting a lady’s home just off Bedwyn Walk, presumably in exchange for snacks, attention, or both.

If Leila belongs to you, please pop us a message so we can reunite this beautiful girl with her rightful servants. There is a little something about Leila that only her rightful owner will know…

🐱 Proof of ownership will be required, such as:

📸 Photos
📹Videos
👩🏻‍⚕️Vet history

Please note that ‘she looked at me once in 2024’ will not be accepted as sufficient evidence.

Let’s get this cheeky little wanderer back where she belongs. ❤️🐾

Now, we’re off to let Leila know that running a second household without declaring it is highly frowned upon. 😼

The tiny dictators have reached the age where they believe they own the place and are now looking for staff of their own. Please note: all kittens MUST be adopted in their pairs. We’ve watched these friendships form, and frankly, separating them would cause more drama than our Facebook comment section.

🐱 Cai & Cora (11 weeks old) - Cai and Cora are the slightly suspicious neighbourhood watch committee. They’re playful, curious, and love charging around like they’ve had three espressos before breakfast. Humans still confuse them a little, but give them five minutes, a few treats, and they’ll be acting like they’ve known you forever. Sweet, gentle, and guaranteed to keep you entertained.

🐱 Cade & Connie (11 weeks old) - Cade has never met a situation he didn’t feel qualified to investigate. New box? His business. Strange noise? His business. What you’re eating? Also his business. He’s confident, nosey, and generally unfazed by life. Being picked up, however, is where he draws the line. He prefers fusses delivered whilst reclining next to you like the king he believes he is.

Connie is his quieter counterpart. She’s shy, thoughtful, and likes to take her time getting to know people. Once she trusts you, she’ll happily accept head strokes and show off her playful side. Together they’re the perfect balance of chaos and calm.

🐱 Wilf & Wolfie (currently 8 weeks old. Will be available from 23.06) - Wolfie is currently on a journey of self discovery. He’d like everyone to respect his need for personal space whilst he works out who he is and what exactly humans are for.

Wilf, meanwhile, has absolutely no such concerns. Wilf’s life philosophy is simply, ‘Sounds good.’ He’s chilled, easy going, and helps show Wolfie that maybe the world isn’t such a scary place after all. These boys need a patient home willing to let Wolfie blossom at his own pace. Trust us, it’ll be worth it.

🐱 Wallace & Womble (currently 8 weeks old. Will be available from 23.06) - Wallace wakes up every morning and chooses chaos. Friendly, playful and outrageously confident, this boy purrs if you so much as glance in his direction. If something is happening, Wallace is involved. If nothing is happening, Wallace will create something.

Womble is slightly more reserved but is taking notes from Wallace’s confidence every day. Together they’re an adorable double act; one providing the ideas, the other reluctantly getting dragged into them.

🐱 Minnie (15 weeks old) - Poor Minnie arrived with her sibling, but after a thorough sibling disagreement (and by disagreement, we mean a full blown scrap), it became very clear they had no intention of sharing a home ever again. So Minnie is flying solo. She’s playful, affectionate, and would absolutely thrive in a fun family home. She can be a little shy initially, but once settled she’s full of love, mischief and kitten nonsense.

🐱 Ronnie & Reggie (12 weeks old) - These brothers are playful, fun, and despite their tough guy reputations, they’re actually secret sweethearts.

If chaos had a mascot, it would probably be Ronnie. Ronnie is the confident one. The ringleader. The instigator. The kitten equivalent of someone saying, ‘Watch this…’ moments before making a terrible decision. He’s sassy, fearless, and usually responsible for any nonsense occurring within a five mile radius.

Reggie, on the other hand, is the calmer half of the duo. He’s more relaxed, enjoys a fuss, and can often be found wondering how exactly he’s ended up involved in Ronnie’s latest scheme. Despite this, he’ll happily join in once he’s finished pretending to be sensible.

All kittens come fully equipped with; endless zoomies, questionable decision making skills, the ability to turn any object into a toy, a complete disregard for your personal space and enough cuteness to get away with all of the above.

Apply today and begin your journey as a full time kitten servant. 🐾❤️

✨ As part of our new adoption policy, we match kittens based on personality, not looks. That means we won’t be telling you which kitten is which in photos. We know the one with the cute nose spot is adorable, but finding the right personality match leads to happier homes and happier kittens.

Tell us about your home, and we’ll help find your perfect furry soulmate. ❤️

🏴‍☠️One Eyed W***y is still looking for his crew🏴‍☠️

One Eyed W***y would like to make something very clear. While he may only have 50% vision, he still maintains 100% attitude. In fact, some would argue he’s compensating.

When W***y first arrived, life with one working eye was a bit of an adjustment. These days? He’s got it mastered. He navigates his world like a seasoned professional, locating food bowls, comfy beds and unsuspecting humans with remarkable accuracy. Particularly if those humans are holding treats.

This handsome pirate is confident, independent and perfectly capable of getting around. The missing vision doesn’t slow him down one bit. What it has done, however, is give him the permanent appearance of a grizzled old sailor who’s survived seventeen sea battles and is mildly disappointed in everyone’s performance.

W***y loves a fuss, adores affection and is more than happy to curl up with his favourite person for a cuddle. On the other hand, he also enjoys doing his own thing and maintaining an air of mystery.

W***y isn’t looking for sympathy. He’s looking for a sofa, a human servant and a steady supply of snacks.

The eyes may be only half working, but the personality is running at full capacity.👌🏼
