☀Phew! HPS Breed Show 2025 - what a day!☀

We hope you all enjoyed the show as much as we did. Thank you to all of you who brought out your beautiful Highlands for us all to enjoy.

Huge thanks to Anna Roberts and the team at Strathallan for hosting us and having the show field looking amazing. We are very lucky to have the best venue. 🏰

Thank you to all our wonderful Judges and Stewards who worked hard together in the heat, offering their expertise and keeping things running.🥵Special thanks to David Blair for his guidance.

We must also extend thanks to the Commentator, Peter Keron for keeping us all informed, the WHP coursebuilder, Gordon Stirrat, Susie Robertson for keeping us right with the scoring and results, Hazel Adam and the ladies in the catering tent, Skinner of Kippen for feeding everyone, L E Jones Photography, for capturing the special moments, the Farrier Alexander Fletcher and Nelson's of Culross for the delicious ice cream🍦

And finally to our generous Sponsors without whom we simply could not run the show. 🙏🏻

To everyone who offered help or support in anyway - THANK YOU

Congratulations to all of the Champions and worthy winners. Photo is of our stunning In Hand Champion and Gold Medal winner, Loandhu True Blue from Alan & Carolyn Munro. More results and photos to follow.

Highland Pony Society Breed Show - Hot Weather

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Strathallan, tomorrow, for our annual Breed Show.

As you will have seen from the forecast, we are expecting high temperatures. Luckily, the show field has a water supply but it will be in demand, so we are asking all exhibitors bring water too as well as buckets and sponges.

To ensure welfare of ponies and exhibitors, the following recommendations are in place.
•Keep ponies and people hydrated throughout the day. For ponies who don’t like to drink from a bucket, consider soaked hay or bringing wet feeds.
•Bring/use fly spray/bug repellents for ponies and people
•Sun cream and hats are recommended for all who are attending the show
•Mare & foal pens will be positioned with as much shade as possible. Please ensure all ponies in pens have access to water.
•All exhibitors are advised that they are permitted to show without jackets in all sections.
•For BSPS Training Stakes, long sleeves and body protectors must be worn, however competitors can return to the ring for prize giving without body protectors, if they choose.
•For Driving Section, competitors are permitted to discard aprons and jackets.
•Working Harness competitors are recommended to dress “weather appropriate” for the hill.
•Warm up should be kept to a minimum.
•Riders are requested not to sit on ponies for prolonged periods while waiting for classes and try to keep ponies in the shade where possible.
•Grooms are permitted to bring buckets of water into rings for drinking and sponging off.
•Judges will be mindful of the heat in performance classes.
•No classes are to be held for exhibitors competing in another ring to ensure smooth running of the day.

We would like to wish everyone an enjoyable and successful day.

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Past President and well known and well respected breeder, Willie Allan of Millfield Highland Ponies. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday. He leaves behind a huge legacy in the Highland Pony world and has passed on his love of the breed to the next generations of Allans.
Our thoughts are with Willie's family - his wife Jane, daughters Jennifer, Kathryn & Louise and their families.
We will let you know when we find out about funeral arrangements.
