Anyone know this cat?

DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS CAT?
INFORMATION NEEDED PLEASE.

[I went to sleep fuming and hoped I'd feel less angry by this morning. Turns out sleeping on it has not worked]

Yesterday morning a local man was in his garden when he heard a car pull up along his hedgerow.

He heard a car door open and a cat start meowing.

He rushed out to the road to look and saw what appeared to be a red VW Golf, or similar, driving away at speed and a cat left meowing on the roadside.

He tried coaxing the cat but it ran into bushes because it was so terrified.

It took until nearly 9pm for the cat to get brave enough to even approach our trap for food but thankfully it did.

This gentle but very skinny sweetheart is still confused this morning but has tucked into breakfast well.

BUT WHO DOES THAT???
WHO DRIVES TO THE COUNTRYSIDE AND DUMPS A CAT BY A RANDOM STRANGERS HEDGE?
WHY NOT RING A CAT RESCUE, ANY CAT RESCUE?

Our worry is that this is someone else's cat that has been dumped.
Maybe a disgruntled neighbour or family dispute?
Maybe someone is missing this gorgeous cat?
Or maybe this was your neighbour's cat? In which case we'd just like information because this cat's worries would be slightly improved perhaps if someone was saying their familiar name?

We're withholding the s*x of this cat so we have something to hold back for ID purposes as they are not microchipped.

IMPORTANT NOTICE :
*While we are still not allowing customers to enter the salon We are asking that ALL our customers are to wear their facemasks when dropping off their dogs to us, we are doing everything we possibly can to make everything as safe as possible for us and for you continuing with all the extra safety procedures, please do your bit to help us out guys by abiding by the safety measures too, so as of Monday we unfortunately will not be allowing any customers to handover their dogs unless masks are worn !!
*Also we politely ask that parents please make sure that children keep to social distancing as well with only one person handing over their dog or ideally where possible using the clip provided outside the salon

Due to the current safety measures being taken we are making appointments but contacting our customers on the day of their appointment with a time..
Due to the number of dogs we are allowed to have with us in the salon at present being limited, we need to ensure that we have time to clean & disinfect and that dogs are collected before we can bring the next dog in to us .. Please wait until we have contacted you before you make your way to the salon to both drop off and pick up your dog.. We ask that customers please be patient and understanding
