I thought we would mark the end of with a Chicknic!
While their owners are away the ladies have been busy laying, so I cooked their eggs and prepped a side salad - you can see which menu item was more popular! 🙈
Feeding hen's eggs back to them and even their shells is a great way to keep them in good form as it gives them a nutrient boost to help make up for all those that they lose producing as many eggs as they do.
In case you're wondering, cooking the eggs and serving this way helps prevent them developing an egg breaking habit!

What are Sundays for if not for lazing in bed? 🤭
Here are two of the lovely ladies I'm currently caring for, who are feeling a tad broody!
When hens are broody they can become a little obsessed and if left to their own devices could easily spend the entire day sat in the nest box with no thought for their own welfare! This is why it's so important to lift broody hens off of the nest (they may or may not even have any eggs) at least once a day to ensure that they have food and water. Stay hydrated ladies!
