Our beautiful Thunder gave everything she had to bring her 14 puppies into the world. She was strong, brave, and full of love but sadly, she didn’t make it through her emergency c-section. We came home heartbroken, with 14 orphaned pups who had no idea their mum wasn’t coming back. Sadly we lost 2 in the first 12 hours.

But then, something incredible happened…

Frank, our tiny miniature dachshund and Thunder’s best friend, stepped up as a foster mum. She kept the puppies warm, clean, and comforted, and then against all odds she started producing milk.

Now, this tiny sausage is feeding 12 giant, spotty pups who will soon be as big as she is! We’re helping with bottle feeds, but without Frank, we would have lost more. Thunder may be gone, but her legacy lives on. Somewhere over the rainbow bridge, we hope she’s watching her tiny best friend and feeling proud. ❤️
