BIG NEWS!

This is not what I expected to see in my inbox this morning😱

I’m incredibly excited and proud to share that Pet Care With Zo has been named a Finalist in the 2026 UK Small Business Awards in the Best Small Business category!

When I started Pet Care With Zo in 2023, I had a borrowed car, a passion for animals, and a dream of creating a pet care business built on trust, compassion, and genuine care. To now be recognised as a finalist in a national award is something I never imagined.

This achievement wouldn’t be possible without all of my amazing clients, their wonderful pets, and everyone who has supported my business along the way. Thank you for trusting me with your furry family members and helping Pet Care With Zo grow into what it is today.

No matter what happens next, being shortlisted is already an incredible honour, and I’m so grateful for the journey so far.

Thank you for being part of it💙🐾

Just wanted to hop on to thank my wonderful customers for their patience. Things went a little up in the air with needing to get Turbo into the vets.

Initially we thought he had something stuck in his paw but there was nothing in there.

It’s a suspected skin growth which will need monitoring over the next week with a course of antibiotics & pain meds. Fingers crossed it improves otherwise he will need surgery on it 🤞🏼

He’s home, sore & feeling sorry for himself but I’m sure he will be right as rain over the coming days 🥰💙🐾

Meet the Dog Monday - Dachshunds Paddy, Lottie & Coco

Dachshunds were originally bred to dig into burrows and hunt badgers. Their name means "badger dog" in German.

Despite their tiny legs, they are surprisingly athletic. They were bred for stamina & bravery, not just their adorable looks. Sausage dogs are renowned for their incredibly stubborn nature, with many owners saying that training is less like "giving commands" & more like "negotiating" 🙈.

Though their long spine makes them incredibly cute, they are also vulnerable. Dachshunds are predisposed to Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) where the cushioning discs between the vertebrae can bulge or burst. It compresses the spinal cord, causing severe pain, nerve damage, & potentially paralysis. So it is vital to take care when jumping from furniture and picking them up.

A dachshund once became the first official Olympic mascot. Waldi was the character created for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. Designed by German graphic artist Otl Aicher, Waldi was the first official Olympic mascot and symbolised the attributes of resistance, tenacity and agility.

Paddy, Lottie and Coco are loveable, cuddly and funny little dogs that have a huge love for burrowing in their blankies 🥰💙🐾
