Our sincere apologies! We missed an important birthday on the 30th August!
So, Jackie and I would like to wish a belated HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY to :- ROXY, CINDERS, CIARA, SABA, FREYA, and not forgetting beautiful DARCEY, who crossed Rainbow Bridge far too soon.
We know that their late Mum and Dad won't have forgotten their birthday, and will have sent licks and slobbery kisses to each and every one of them. Hopefully, Darsey is happily reunited with her loving parents.
We're sure that a good day was had by all, and that lovely Darcey was looking down wishing her siblings a very happy day.

Paddy had his six week postoperative x-ray yesterday. Our Vet (Paddy's orthopedic surgeon) was very pleased with his progress following cruciate ligament surgery, and gave us the go ahead for off lead walks. Not too far to begin with, but building up to longer ones gradually.
So, this was this gorgeous boys first beach walk for over six weeks. He thoroughly enjoyed his freedom and a much loved location.

We postponed our daily beach walk by half an hour this morning to let the rain pass over. I tried to listen to Whitney Houston on the radio whilst driving the two miles down to Drigg Beach, but the dogs barked incessantly the whole way....absolute pandemonium, so it was hopeless!
As you'll see, the dogs (along with my Sister's two Border Collies) had a wonderful time once again. It was rather blustery, but the weather tomorrow looks like it could be a day at home!

Maple just about to enjoy her birthday cake. She shared it of course with the rest of the pack. It didn't last long!

Jackie and I would like to wish a very HAPPY 9th BIRTHDAY to:- WILBUR, TED, HOLLY, MOLLY, COCO, CADBURY, the late and very much missed NELLY, and not forgetting our lovely MAPLE.
We know that you'll be spoiled even more than usual today, but make sure you take full advantage of all the extra treats, and attention. We also send our love to Soph who sadly can't make a special birthday fuss of Nelly, but we're sure that she'll never be far from your side, probably carrying an oversized stick!

Well it's not often you see 5 black labs dancing. I let them out for bedtime wee's and the 5 of them even Paddy with his bad leg shot up the garden going round and around circling something. Jemma being vocal as usual and pushing her nose in. When I got there it was a hedgehog 🦔 curled up. Once I chased the 5 of them away it peeked out and saw the dogs had gone and off it shuffled under the bushes. No wonder Jemma just pushed her nose in. She would not like the spines.

Jackie and I would like to wish a very HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY to BONNIE and CLYDE. Born this day in 2013. A litter of just two, but what a perfect pair they are!
We hope that they're both having a wonderful day, with lots of special treats, and lots of extra cuddles.
We send our love, as do our pack here in a very wet and windy Cumbria! ###

It is with the greatest of sadness that Jackie and I have to report that beautiful Nelly crossed Rainbow Bridge yesterday after a mercifully very short illness.
We were absolutely knocked for six when we got this incredibly sad news. Poor Soph and family had no time to prepare themselves for this enormous sudden loss, and are naturally inconsolable.
Nelly was a big, daft, cuddly gorgeous girl, so like her late Mum Toyt. Not a care in the World. Looking at these lovely photographs, we also see her late Dad JJ. She was a one off. Everyone who knew her loved her. She leaves a space that can never be filled, and a family grieving her loss. However, she had the very best home, with a family who showered her with love, and though her life has been cut short, she received more love than many do in a full lifetime.
We send Soph our love, and our heartfelt sympathy. We know your pain all too well. I'm sure that many of those reading this will also be moved to offer their own thoughts and condolences.
Nelly, you left so soon after your Mum and Dad, and we can only think that they needed you on the far side of Rainbows Bridge.
You will remain in so many hearts gorgeous Nelly.

We're very pleased to say that Paddy had his cruciate ligament surgery to his other knee done yesterday. He was a little bit woozy when we got him home, no doubt from the anaesthetic. However, he managed to eat a generous helping of freshly cooked chicken and rice! He obviously wasn't keen to put much weight on that hind leg, but still managed to go out to toilet. He's had a hearty breakfast this morning, and considering the surgery, he's doing incredibly well.
