It’s national rescue dog day and what better way of celebrating rescue dogs than to introduce our rescues past and present.
As a family we rescue bulldogs in need.
Oscar, our first bulldog joined us in 2012 shortly after we got married, aged 18 months old.
We gave Oscar some great holidays, seen here meeting cows for the first time.
Oscar sadly passed away from DCM aged just 8 years old.
Then came Blondie.
Aged 6, Blondie was rehomed to us after retiring from the show ring.
Blondie produced one amazing litter of puppies with her breeder and was the best mum.
Blondie sadly developed a mast cell tumour but made a very good age of 10yrs 4 months.
Enter Marley!
Marley was 6 years old when he bounded into our lives with a bang.
Being checked into kennels for his holiday when his owners went away, but sadly they never collected Marley therefore he was homeless, so he came to live out his days at the Henley household.
We are so proud of Marley, alive and well at 11! 🐶🐶🥹🥹
After delayed flights, and will she make the flight alive or won’t she, (brachy breed) enter Maude Henley.
We flew Maude from China after seeing a video of her with a charity that saves dogs from the meat trade in China.
After getting over her jet lag Maude became Marley’s girlfriend and they have the best bond.
We are unsure of Maude’s age and despite being slightly hard work, the result of what she was heading for is unimaginable.
And finally, our French mistake Daisy!
Daisy was brought to the shop after putting my hands up 🙌🏻 (unbeknown to my husband) to do some fostering.
Turns out I wasn’t very good at the assignment 😂😂😂😂
Daisy is 6 and has sealed the family making us complete.
She has the most loving nature and takes her shop assistant role very seriously!
So that’s our rescue dogs to date, and although Mr Henley says “no more”, deep down we both know that’s just not the case, there’s always room for one more! 🐾🐾🐶🐶
