🦎🐍🐢 HAPPY REPTILE AWARENESS DAY! 🐢🐍🦎

💚 21st October – Let's celebrate our amazing reptiles!

At Animal Tracks Pet & Aquatics, we're passionate about reptiles and making sure they receive the very best care possible!

Reptiles are fascinating animals, but did you know that even the smallest details in their environment can make a HUGE difference to their health and wellbeing? 🤔

🌞 UVB Lighting – Did you know UVB cannot pass effectively through glass or plastic? Correct lighting is essential for many reptiles to stay healthy.

🌡️ Temperature Matters – Reptiles rely on their environment to regulate their body temperature. Providing the correct warm and cool areas is vital!

💦 Humidity & Shedding – Incorrect humidity can cause shedding problems. Every species has its own requirements.

🦗 Nutrition & Supplements – From calcium-dusted insects to specialist diets, feeding the right foods is just as important as providing the right habitat.

🐍 Snakes – Many adult snakes only need feeding every week or two, depending on their species, age and condition!

🐢 Tortoises – Did you know a tortoise's shell is living bone, connected to its spine and ribs?

🦎 And here's a fun fact! Geckos can climb smooth surfaces thanks to millions of microscopic structures on their toes — no glue required!

💚 Different species. Different needs. One shared responsibility.

Owning a reptile isn't just about having a beautiful or unusual pet. It's about understanding its natural behaviour, habitat, diet and individual needs.

Here at Animal Tracks, we're always happy to offer advice on reptile care, lighting, heating, nutrition and suitable setups.

Whether you're an experienced reptile keeper or thinking about welcoming your first reptile into your home, pop in and have a chat with our team! 🥰

🐾 Animal Tracks Pet & Aquatics
