🐾 SECOND CHANCE SUNDAY 🐾

A little while ago, Billie & Millie left our care to begin their new chapter together… and judging by this beautiful update, it’s safe to say they’ve completely settled into home life already 💜

“Hi, they are absolutely wonderful and such beautiful cats. Billie is a bit of a character and the boss lol, where Millie is more chilled out, but they have both settled in really well with no problems whatsoever. I can see they want to go out but I am not letting them go out yet!!”

We absolutely LOVE updates like this!

From cosy sofa naps… to supervising the litter tray… to claiming the bed as their own, these two girls are clearly enjoying every second of being loved and safe 🐾

It’s always amazing seeing bonded cats stay together and thrive in their forever home. Billie may be running the household already, but sweet Millie sounds more than happy letting her sister take charge 💜

Thank you so much to their wonderful adopter for giving these beautiful girls the second chance they deserved.

Because every cat deserves a happy ending… and sometimes, they get to share it with their best friend 💜💜

After carefully analysing our follower demographics… we’ve come to one very important conclusion:

Cats Protection Ashford & South Kent is officially powered by women aged 35–54 💜

Apparently while the rest of the internet is busy arguing… our followers are:
💜 Feeding strays
💜Buying kitten food
💜 Sharing adoption posts at 11pm
💜 Calling every cat “baby” regardless of age
💜 Saying “we’re NOT getting another cat” while already browsing adoption photos

Meanwhile, the men are here too… mostly pretending they “didn’t want a cat” while secretly while secretly building outdoor cat shelves and becoming best friends with kittens 💜

And to our younger followers aged 18–24…
We see you 💜
You’re the ones tagging your friends under every kitten post saying “PLEASE can we get one?” 💜

BUT… we’ve noticed something else

Ashford Community, we need your help to urgently find Rose a home

Not every cat dreams of sofa snuggles… and that’s perfectly okay

Beautiful Rose has found the rescue environment a little overwhelming, and after spending time getting to know her, we believe she would be happiest living life on her own terms — with space, freedom, and independence.

Rose is looking for a safe outdoor home such as a farm, smallholding, stables, yard, or similar setting where she can enjoy her surroundings while still having caring humans nearby to look out for her

She doesn’t want fuss or close handling, but she would truly appreciate:

🐾 Regular food
🐾 A warm, cosy shelter
🐾 Kind people who respect her boundaries

Rose has previously lived happily alongside other cats, so she could fit in wonderfully with an existing outdoor feline community.

At Cats Protection, we will fully support her transition and provide equipment to help her settle safely into her new environment.

🐾 THE RESCUE OF LITTLE MONKEY 🐾

Tonight, in Ashford, while the rain pours outside… a little cat called Monkey is finally safe ❤️

A few weeks ago we were alerted to a stray tom cat who had been visiting a very kind lady called Gemma. It was immediately obvious this poor boy had been surviving on the streets for a very, very long time. Covered in scars and scabs, unneutered, and showing all the signs of a hard life fighting to survive.

But what really worried us was a huge wound to his shoulder.

Many of you may remember the posts we shared while we desperately tried to find an owner. Sadly, nobody came forward. At that point, Monkey became our priority. We simply could not leave this poor soul suffering on the streets with such a severe untreated injury.

With Gemma’s incredible help, we slowly gained his trust. We managed to chip check him, get flea and worm treatment into him, and finally today… we got him safely to the vets.

Under anaesthetic, Monkey underwent surgery to repair the deep wound on his shoulder, requiring multiple layers of stitches. While asleep, he was also neutered and fully checked over. The vets found countless old scars from years of street life, along with what appears to be an old injury affecting one of his eyes, which may have left him partially sighted.

And honestly… after spending time with Monkey today being his little taxi driver, I truly believe he was rescued just in time. He looked exhausted. Like he’d simply had enough of surviving.

But this story has the happiest ending we could have hoped for ❤️

Because Monkey isn’t just safe for tonight.

Gemma has fallen completely in love with him and has asked to adopt him forever!

This battered old street cat who has likely never known comfort, warmth or security… tonight has a home. Tonight he has a family.

If there was ever a cat who deserved a second chance, it’s Monkey ❤

While I don’t want to ruin such an amazing story… stories like this only happen because people donate ❤️

We currently have TWELVE kittens in our care, Some are tiny babies, some are learning to eat on their own, and ALL of them are absolutely demolishing food at an alarming rate

In the last few days alone, 7 of the kittens have completely emptied our kitten food supplies. What comes in one day is often gone the next.

A few weeks ago little Leo left our care and headed off to begin his new life… and we are thrilled to share this absolutely beautiful update with you ❤️

“He hasn’t put a paw out of place since we brought him home. After some initial sniffing about he settled down straight away and spent his first night asleep on top of us… which I found amusing!

He’s eating, drinking and toileting all fine and we are absolutely thrilled with him. Currently he’s fast asleep along the back of the sofa.

He’s just beautiful and he knows it. Thank you for letting us be his new friends x”

From waiting patiently for his chance, to already ruling the sofa like he owns the place… Leo has truly landed on all four paws 🐾

That’s 15 cats leaving behind uncertainty…
15 cats getting warm beds, full bowls and families to love them…
15 happy endings made possible because people in our local community chose adoption

From nervous strays to playful kittens, every single cat had their own story — and thanks to your shares, donations, fostering, transporting, fundraising and support, they got the second chance they deserved.

For a small volunteer-run branch, 15 adoptions in one month is something we are incredibly proud of 🥹
