Service Update – Routes 110 & 111

From Monday 5th January to Friday 9th January, Derbyshire County Council will be closing Middleton Road at the crossroads by The Rising Sun pub.

During this closure, both the 110 and 111 services will divert in both directions via Porter Lane and Steeple Grange, as shown on the map below.

Please allow extra time for your journey while this diversion is in place.

Service Update – Routes 110 & 111

Due to the current cold weather and poor road conditions, we are unable to serve Bradbourne and Hognaston at this time as roads are unsafe.

There will also be delays to both the 110 and 111 services as some vehicles are currently stuck on Kniveton Hill.

We will return to normal service as soon as conditions allow. Please bear with us while this situation is ongoing.

Christmas: Closed from 5pm on Wednesday 24 December
Reopens 9am on Monday 29 December
New Year: Closed from 5pm on Wednesday 31 December
Reopens 9am on Friday 2 January

📞 Telephone lines will close at 4pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

• All services run Monday–Saturday as normal
• No services on: Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day

🚐 Important service notes:
• The 412 service, which normally runs on a Thursday, will not operate during the Christmas Day / Boxing Day period.
• 110/111 services will run as scheduled on all other operating days.
• Derbyshire Connect and Moorlands Connect will finish at 5pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Any passengers booked on Thursday shopper services will be contacted directly with an alternative shopping day, so no one goes too long without the chance to get to the shops.

From February 2026, decisions about bus services in Derbyshire will be made by the East Midlands Combined Authority. With funding shared across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, not all services can be prioritised.

*UPDATE* The road closure has been extended until the 17th December.
The bus can get into Wirksworth via Hopton Lane, so it can now serve Carsington and Hopton.
The only place we are not able to serve during the hours of 09:30 until 15:30 is Middleton Top.

Service Update – Routes 110/111

Due to an emergency road closure at Godfreyhole, buses are currently unable to serve Carsington, Hopton, or the Greenway stop in Brassington between 09:30 and 15:30 until 12th December.

Services will continue to call at Brassington Church bus stop, but will then divert via the top of Brassington to Middleton before rejoining the normal route.

We will be able to operate the route as normal before 09:30 and after 15:30, so school transport services should not be affected.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will update you with any changes. As soon as we are able to serve Carsington again, we will let you know.

🎄 We’re excited to be supporting our neighbouring town once again! 🎄

We’re proud to be providing another bus—this time for the Belper Carol Service on Monday 22nd December.

🚍 The bus will be fully accessible, with space for one wheelchair on each run, ensuring everyone can join in the festive fun.

We hope to see many of you there, ready to get into the Christmas spirit! ✨

Christmas is just around the corner which means our annual Christmas Carol Service is fast-approaching too.

Join us at the top of King Street from 6.30pm on Monday 22nd December to sing a range of carols, accompanied by Heage Band.

UPDATE:
Due to this traffic, the 110 is not running from Ashbourne at 13:15 or from Matlock at 14:15. It will be leaving Ashbourne bus station at 15:20 in order to get back on schedule with the school finishing time.

Further to this, there are numerous sets of temporary traffic lights in Ashbourne which are causing severe delays.
There will be delays to the timetable today but we will try our best. Again, we apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

110/111 Service Update – Cromford Hill Closure

Due to an unplanned road closure, Cromford Hill is currently shut. Services will be diverted through Middleton and the Via Gellia.

Please note that the only stop served in Cromford will be the Market Place during this closure.

This diversion may add extra time to journeys. We will do our best to keep to the timetable, but some delays are possible.

The 111 service may be running behind schedule due to a vehicle puncture. We have now swapped the vehicle so the service can continue as normal. Thank you for your patience, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

SERVICE UPDATE – 110/111

Due to a planned road closure from Monday 1st December to Wednesday 3rd December, the 110 and 111 services will be unable to serve Hopton village.

During this period, buses will divert into Carsington Village via Main Street (opposite Sheepwash Car Park), turn around at the triangle near The Miners Arms Pub, and return the same way (opposite Sheepwash).
