Hello folks,
Sorry to be a wingebag and I really don’t want to have to do this whilst I’m supposed to be having a week off.
But can anyone who needs to have time off give me as much notice as possible please. I’ve had two lots of clients cancel this week saying they now don’t need me for the next two weeks and these dogs get walked 4-5 days a week so that’s a huge chunk of my wage down now. My original policy states that if you have a week off to give me two weeks notice and anything longer than a week to give me a month the notice so I can fill the space. Anything under these times frames will incur a 50% charge and anything under 48hours before the walks will be charged at full rate of the entire weeks cost.
I have a really good bunch of folk most of the time who understand that if I don’t go to work I don’t get paid and I understand it is holiday time or people may be off work for the kids holidays etc but I still need notice.
As much as I love this ‘job’ and don’t class it as a job the reality is if people keep letting me down last minute and then I can’t afford my bills, especially fuel for the car to come pick your doggos up to take them to exciting walks.
I’ve done this for a long time now and so far this year has been the worst for people giving me notice for time off. I understand times are hard and the cost of living is ridiculous but please be kind to us self employed people who have to deal with this kind of problem.
Thank you to all the people that give me enough notice for their holidays/ time off and even better for when they know for the whole year what they will be having off and get those dates booked in well in advance.
When I’m back off my holiday I will be reinstating these policies and sending them out to get them signed properly, probably my fault a little for being slack on this but still please just think before you have to cancel last minute.

Sorry again for the boring post and waffling on, but it’s happening too much at the moment.

Just wanted to re-share that we also offer help for insulin injections. We’ve had experience with our own family dog having diabetes and epilepsy.
We currently help with 9 cats in the area and 4 dogs to put the owners mind at ease that they can enjoy a night out and not be restricted to the timings that come with the insulin injections.
We can time our meet and greets with the times the furry friends have their injections with the owners present to see how we can safely and calmly insert the insulin.

Hello you fine folk,🐾
Sorry for the radio silence again. A lot going on behind closed doors but we are still very much here!
The smaller beast human will be having more time at his preschool from September (soz to the ladybirds crew) so we will have a bit more freedom to get out doing what top doggers do. ⭐️
So we will have some space for some more pooches. We have experience in a variety of breeds from the littlest chihuahua to the biggest loveable wolfhound. We don’t mind on things like if your pooch has no recall or is going through training (we can help with that on our walks as we pretty much know the majority of the kennel clubs good citizen awards scheme, not blowing our own trumpet like😎), we also don’t mind if your doggos aren’t the best with other doggos and have some form of ‘aggressive’ tendencies (we also have experience in doggos with what we like to call ‘extra help’ rather than using the aggressive crap.)
We try our best to make sure no pooch has the same walk and we are pretty good at finding out the top places we can have our freedom.
So if you know anyone that needs some help no matter how little or large their pooch is then please give this a share or tag anyone you might know.
We can sort out a meet and greet and even a pre-walk walk if it puts everyone’s mind at ease. (We don’t charge for these coz we try not to be arseholes)

It’s going to be a hot one🔥🔥
All safety measures are in place with shaded/river walks, plenty of water in the car with extra dog bowls, fans on in the car with cool mats as well as the aircon.
We will assess every walk with how hot it is. If it’s too hot or verging on getting hot then we will be doing some garden visits with enrichment games which work well keeping doggos full filled.

No dog ever died from missing a walk, but they can die from being walked in this heat.
It takes about 30 mins for dogs to develop heat stroke with only a 50% survival rate.

🏃 Baz is off again!!! 🏃

This time he's embarking on the KAEM Big Daddy! For those that don't know about it, here's a little of what it involves:

🌎 Starts and finishes in Augrabies Falls National Park in the Kalahari Desert, South Africa
📅 12-22nd September 2024
🏃 250km over 6 stages (7 days), including a long day of 78kms
🍛 Self-sufficient with supplies and clothing

For this event, Baz is raising money for The Ark, Ashbourne Animal Welfare 🐶🐱 We will be posting his Just Giving link when the page is up and running. As always, all donations, big or small, are more gratefully received!

If he receives anywhere near the amount of support as he did when completing the Marathon Des Sables back in April 2023 then it will go a huge way to help him battle this considerable challenge

It’s getting warmer!! 😎☀️☀️🔥🔥

Standard yearly heat safety tips for anyone unsure of how to keep your furry pals safe as it starts to get hotter.
The PDSA and Vets Now all have brilliant information out there.
For those of you that use folk like us for walking your doggos, with the group first aid that Dog First Aid - Derby and East Staffordshire provide you can be at ease that we’ve had the best training to help prevent anything happening and what to do if we see any signs (not that we will be putting them in danger) but peace of mind to know we can safely and calmly help your doggos in the heat.

❌Remember no dog ever died from not being walked, but they can die from walking In heat.❌

Mental stimulation is just as good as physical exercise!
