Announcement:
I'm with animal clients this morning. A visiting dog to the neighbours of my last client died overnight.
PLEASE do NOT give your dogs ice cubes or other frozen items in the heat to cool them down! Ice cubes do not cool dogs down! I post this warning more than once every summer.
Giving ice cubes to dogs in the heat has the opposite effect of cooling. The canine anterior hypothalamus is triggered to warm up the body because it recognises something icy cold has been absorbed, and subsequently the bodily temperature rises to compensate for this. In extreme heat a dogs' temperature needs to be reduced gradually.
Sadly the above is the case in the dog mentioned above, just 7 years old.
Give dogs tepid water only. Tepid water soaked towels rubbed into the dogs fur close to the skin to wick away heat from the body will keep them cool, especially under forelegs (armpits) and pads. NOT ICE CUBES

Hello everyone. I wanted to mention that although Covid Restrictions are being lifted today I will still be following the previous guidelines. I will continue to wear a mask when collecting the dog from you, which will still take place outside of the salon. Please do not enter the salon I will bring your furry friend out to you. If anyone has symptoms in your household or if you have been in contact with anyone with symptoms please let me know before attending the salon and I will rearrange the appointment for you.Thank you for your understanding Bev x

Hi everyone, yesterday there was an announcement from the Pet Federation and DEFRA stating that Groomers can only groom a dog if it is deemed for strict welfare reasons, for example referral from a vet for a skin condition or severe matting causing discomfort. I am so sorry to have to close again but it is so important we all stay safe and do our utmost to get rid of this virus. I will get in touch with everyone over the next week or so and prioritise once I am allowed to reopen. In the meantime if you need any advice or just want a chat about anything I’m here , please give me a call. Take good care , see you very soon I hope.Thank you Bev x

Hello everyone. I hope you are all keeping well.I have been waiting for an answer from my local council to see if I can open during this lockdown. Finally late on Friday I received a reply and I can open only under certain restrictions. I can only groom those dogs that need grooming for their welfare. Therefore I will only be grooming my regular visitors who, without their groom would have a welfare issue. I will be in touch with everyone individually over the next couple of days to either confirm their appointment or rearrange for after the lockdown and restrictions are lifted. Thank you for your patience and keep safe well
