This weather really hits our industry hard.

Over the last few days, many of us in the dog industry have had to make the decision to cancel classes, workshops, walks, training sessions, daycare activities and events.

As small businesses, every cancellation has an impact. We lose income, spend hours rearranging schedules, and often absorb costs that can’t be recovered.

But dog welfare will always come first.

No class, walk, workshop or training session is worth putting a dog at risk. When temperatures soar, our responsibility is to keep dogs safe, even when it’s the harder business decision.

So today, I’d love to shine a light on the amazing small businesses who are also putting welfare first. If you know a dog trainer, walker, daycare, groomer, physio, hydrotherapist, pet sitter or any other pet professional who has been affected by the heat, tag them below and give them a follow.

A well stocked canine first aid kit is something every professional dog walker should carry 🐾

Dogs love to explore, and sometimes that means the odd scratch, thorn, insect bite, or little graze during an adventures. Having canine first aid knowledge and the right equipment on hand means I can quickly clean and manage minor issues while keeping your dogs safe, happy, and comfortable.

One product I always keep in my kit is Leucillin, an antiseptic spray that’s safe for animals, non sting, and great for cleaning cuts, grazes, itchy skin, and hotspots. It’s so gentle and effective that it can even be used on humans too!

Preparedness is all part of providing safe, professional care because your dogs deserve the very best on every walk 🐶💕
