Oh it’s a sleepy Bo! 😅🐾

Miss Jolene has not had a single application yet 😢
We don't understand how she couldn't have any interest, all she wants is a fuss and a cuddle. 🩵

Jolene came to us as after living as a stray for a lengthy period of time but she quickly settled in to life in our cattery. When she first arrived with us at the end of February she needed surgery for kidney stones and though she has made a great recovery she will need to stay on a special urinary diet to prevent these from coming back. 🐾

🐱 Could you give Jolene her forever home? You can apply for her through the link below: 👇

Jeffrey
French Bulldog
Male
3 years old

Jeffrey finds himself with us after the relationship between him and the other Dog in the home broke down. Despite how he looks, Jeffrey is actually a happy little chappy who loves his toys and cuddles.

Jeffrey would be best suited as the only pet in a home that isn't too close to busy dog walking areas. This should also take into consideration the walking routes applicants would plan to use.

Jeffrey could live with children aged 8 years old and above.

Little Bella finds herself with us after her owner sadly passed away and unfortunately, she was struggling to be around younger children within the family.

Bella is used to an indoor lifestyle and is the sweetest wee woman who loves her cuddles and walks.

Bella would be best suited to a home with no children under the age of 12 years old. She could live in a home with another Dog after successful meet and greets.

How stunning is this big fella?

Milo was recently surrendered due to owners ill health.

He's every bit as friendly as he is beautiful and we are sure he'll be a popular boy.

Milo was used to an indoor lifestyle and of course his coat does require care.

Milo could live with other cats and/or children.

Molly 2
Female
8 Months
Cockapoo

Molly was recently surrendered to the sanctuary due to the owner being unequipped to meet her exercise needs.
Molly is a little ball of energy and any adopter will need to be able to commit lots of time to meeting her needs. Cockapoos while certainly cute have high energy needs so are not for the average pet owner.

We know that Molly has a couple of homes already in her short life so are determined to get things right for her.

Molly has also had previous issues at the groomers so finding a good groomer willing to take their time coupled with some regular home grooming will be important.

Molly could live with another dog pending successful meet and greets.

Molly will do better in a home without young children, we will consider 13 + years.

Springer Spaniel

Kay was transferred to us via another rescue, we were informed the original owner was in financial difficulties and Kay was surrendered.

Kay is a complete sweetheart of a dog. Kay has been a super sidekick for our other similar aged pup Snowy while here, the pair of them have got up to all sorts of mischief.
The pair of them have definitely made their stay in rescue a little better for each other.

Breed experience and/or knowledge will benefit your application.

Kay could live with another dog but any male dogs in the home will have to be already neutered, (Kay will be too young for spaying pre adoption).

Kay could live with children of any age who have a sensible approach to dogs.

Beano

Border Collie

Little Beano arrived to us through another rescue, the original owner had some financial difficulties which resulted in his surrender.

We don't really have any other history outside of this.

Sadly Beano is not coping with Kennel life (hence the bandages on his paws).
Many Collies are quite noise sensitive and so struggle hugely with kennel life, repetitive behaviours and difficulty shutting down have result in Beanos paw pads being cut. We have now moved Beano to our training barn area, which had just become available after another nervous dog was adopted. It's much quieter here but not perfect, ultimately Beano needs a home.

We will assist in costs to help cover any treatment needed for Beanos paws.

Beano will need an owner educated on his breed type.

Beano could live with another dog pending successful meet and greets.

Beano could live with children aged 8 +years.

Dachshund

Little Daisy was initially handed into a local dog pound as a stray, sadly she was unclaimed and then transferred to our sanctuary for re homing. In these cases we don't have much in the way of background so we have had one unsuccessful adoption of Daisy. We discovered some issues with resource guarding in the home, we will now change her criteria for adoption, meaning we will look for an adult home with an adopter familiar with the breed type, some experience or knowledge of managing similar issues will benefit your application.
Daisy can be such a little cutie when she feels safe and we feel this will be best achieved in a quiet home as an only pet.

Things haven't worked out for Snowy so we are still appealing for a suitable home. Fresh video appeal coming. 😍🐶

https://midantrim.org/project/snowy/

Snowy
Female
4 1/2 Months
Boxer x Springer

Snowy was recently surrendered due to difficulties in the relationship with the other dog in the home.
Snowy is quite a sociable little dog though and would probably enjoy the company of another dog. In addition Snowy is deaf so can probably gain a lot from having a hearing dog live with her.
Obviously Snowy is still a little pup so will not be old enough for spaying upon adoption, therefore any male dogs in the household will have to be already neutered.

🐶Puppies can be hard work, remember this, it's easy to see the cute ball of fluff and make a bad decision, (we call it puppy fever).
Snowy will obviously need to someone with the time and experience to meet all of her training/socialisation needs.
Please meet the below criteria before you apply-
Discuss and agree with the other adults in the home that you wish to adopt a puppy, if often takes more than one persons effort to make things work.
Be in a position where Snowy would not be left alone for long periods of time. Puppy bladders are weak and toilet training is only possible when they get out to toilet regularly.
Any male dogs in your household will already be neutered. (Snowy will obviously not be old enough for spaying upon adoption)
Be willing to attend puppy classes, there is evidence to suggest benefits to attending.
The cost of attending the classes will be covered by your increased puppy adoption fee of £280
If you are being invited for a meet you will likely receive a phone call within the next day or so. (Mon/Tues)

Snowy could live with children of any age with a sensible approach to dogs

🐾 The 3-3-3 Rule is a general guideline for the adjustment period for a dog after adoption 💖
The goal of the 3-3-3 Rule is to help the dog adjust to their new environment and routine and help build a strong foundation for a long and happy life with their new family 🥰
Just remember - every dog is unique! So this process may not look the same for everyone 🐕🐾

Fiadh
Saluki/Lurcher X
Female
5 years old

This beautiful lady came to us a few weeks ago as an unclaimed stray from a pound. She was very shut down to the world around her and it has taken a lot of time and patience to get her to feel somewhat comfortable around us. She still has a long way to go but we see more and more of her beautiful personality as the days go by.

Fiadh will need a quiet and understanding new home where she can continue to build her confidence and will require a well enclosed garden.

Fiadh would be best suited to a quiet, adult only home as she can be so easily spooked. She could live with another Dog after successful meet and greets although, small Dogs, Cats and other small furries would not be suitable for her to be around.

🐾 Did you know that all of our kittens are placed on kitten plans during their time here while they wait on their forever home? 🐱
This ensures that they are well socialised at this crucial development stage and gives them the positive start to life that they deserve. 🥰 These plans can then be extended into their new home and continue to help give a life of positive experiences. 🩷

Jackson finds himself in rescue through no fault of his own. He's a friendly, easy going big Dog who will enjoy an active lifestyle.

Jackson may need a little help with toilet training as he's only half way there, but he's a smart big man who should pick it up very quickly.

Jackson could live with another Dog after successful meet and greets. We will consider a home with children of any age who show a sensible approach to Dogs.

Breeze was transferred to us via another rescue and sadly there wasn't much in the way of a background history for her.

While Breeze was super nervous arriving at the sanctuary she has now feels more comfortable.

Breeze can be a super energetic girl, (it took quite a while getting this pic haha), she adores play but any other dogs will have to be tolerant or able to match this.

Breeze has recently had a kennel injury to her tail, caused by banging of the sides of the kennel, ultimately we need to get this lady out of a kennel environment fairly quickly to help aid the healing.

Breeze could live with children aged 8 + years with a sensible approach to dogs.

Molly was recently surrendered to the sanctuary due to no fault of her own.

Molly has been an outside dog up until now but we do want to give her the opportunity of living a life as part of a family unit and not isolated.
Obviously given background house training will need to be completed but Molly is a smart lady and this is certainly achievable.

Molly is a super sweet and soft natured dog who could be easily frightened by a loud or over the top dog. Saying that she certainly enjoys the company of some other dogs.

Molly could live with children aged 8 + years with a sensible approach to dogs.

Here at the sanctuary we do a lot of our work behind the scenes.
Many of the animals that arrive with us are in a poor mental state for various reasons and this can show itself through absolute fear leading to them hiding away in a corner. It can take us days , sometimes weeks, to gain any sort of trust from them and just get them out of their kennel into an outdoor run.
Then more days taken to get a lead on them without even trying to walk them. This will continue for as long as it takes with the hope that we can eventually get them outside for a walk.
This video of lurcher Fiadh and cattle dog Quinn shows 2 of our girls who came to us totally shut down but with time and patience look at them today.
We’re so proud of these 2 beautiful girls
Both are available for adoption, check them out on our web page http://midantrim.org
