Why Are Rabbits Seen as Disposable? 🐇💔

This is a question that every rabbit rescue wishes they had an answer to.

We receive countless messages from people wanting to surrender their rabbits for all sorts of reasons — and honestly, it feels like we’ve heard every excuse in the book.

Of course, there are genuine situations where people have no other choice, and we completely understand and sympathise with those cases. ❤️

But far too often, we hear reasons like:
🐰 “We’re having a baby.”
🐰 “We got a dog/cat and they don’t get along.”
🐰 “The kids have lost interest.”
🐰 “We don’t have time anymore.”

It’s heartbreaking — because rabbits always seem to be the first to be discarded.

Despite being the third most popular pet in the UK, they are also one of the most neglected. That really says it all, doesn’t it? 😔

Right now, we’re doing everything we can to pay off our vet bills and reach our £10,000 fundraising goal so we can get back to what we do best: saving and caring for rabbits who desperately need us.

Pet shops are selling these items and more like them. They claim they are safe for bunnies, THEY ARE NOT!! Please don't purchase these for your rabbits. There are plenty of places that sell safe rabbit products. Hoppy Pets and Just 4 rabbits are two that come to mind.

We finally have good news!

After some initial hiccups and a house move we are now ready to welcome your bunnies, piggies and hamsters!

We are located in Toomsbridge, Antrim only 25 minutes from Belfast International Airport.

PRICES

My prices are as follows per night.

Rabbits single £12 / 2 sharing £15
Guinea Pigs single £9 / 2 sharing £12
Hamster £6 (Please provide the cage)

I include wood pellets, wood shavings, bedding and hay.

A home from home service is provided. Rabbits have good size pens with houses, rugs and toys included.

Guinea pigs have large cage or pen depending on availability. Includes enrichment and toys. Outdoor runs are provided during the good weather.
