Its been a while but we can now give you all an update on our big greyhound Max.
You may recall that he came to us with a badly broken hock (ankle) and we decided to go for surgery to repair the damage. He was going to our regular vets, Firmount Vets, Antrim, for weekly dressing changes and checks and it was at one of these checks a couple of weeks ago that it was discovered the wound wasnโt healing as well as it should.
Firmount vets liaised with the specialist orthopaedic vets at Cedar Grove Veterinary Clinicwho needed to see him immediately. Our staff member rushed him up to Belfast straight away to have him examined and the sad decision was taken to amputate his leg. There was always the chance that the healing process would be an issue due to the fact that greyhounds have quite thin skin but everyone was in agreement that the repair was well worth a try.
Now, in true Max fashion, he is flying about on his 3 legs whilst recuperating in a fantastic foster home with one of the Cedar Grove staff members who is giving him everything he needs as you will see from the video and photos. He really is an amazing big dog with the most gentle manner you could ever wish for.
We will keep you updated and let you know how heโs getting on. In the meantime we hope you enjoy the wee video and photos ๐๐๐คฉ๐คฉ

Our lovely cat hasn't been seen since Saturday morning - she never stays away from the house for long, so we're very worried about her :-(
I'm just wondering has anyone seen or taken in a cat like this in the past two weeks around the Belfast Road/Novara Park/Greystone Road/Knockmoyle Drive area in Antrim?
It usually comes to our apartment block everyday and our neighbours leave it some food but I haven't seen it in a while and I'm a little worried. I'm not sure if someone owns it or if it's wild but I've been keeping an eye out to see if it's okay! ๐
