This gorgeous French Bulldog, Betty is having a carefully tailored underwater treadmill session as part of her ongoing management of IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease).

Hydrotherapy can be a valuable part of a rehabilitation and maintenance programme, helping to provide controlled, low-impact exercise while the buoyancy of the water reduces the amount of weight placed through the spine and limbs.

Meet Percy the Pug 💕

This gorgeous pug is enjoying a gentle session on our underwater treadmill — a fantastic form of low-impact exercise that can be especially beneficial for dogs with myelopathy and other neurological conditions.

The water provides buoyancy and support, helping to reduce weight-bearing while allowing controlled movement. Hydrotherapy can help:

✨ Encourage controlled, repetitive limb movement
✨ Support coordination and proprioception
✨ Improve joint mobility and flexibility
✨ Provide exercise while reducing stress on the spine and joints

Belle has been having Hydrotherapy sessions in the treadmill to help strengthen her hind limbs. She’s already gained some muscle mass.💪 Go Belle! 💕

Oatie loves his Hydrotherapy sessions. He has elbow dysplasia which was diagnosed when he was just 2 years old. He’s now 8 and due to managed exercise and regular hydrotherapy he is living a comfortable life without the need for any current pain medication.

Early intervention for elbow dysplasia can help reduce joint damage and help to delay the development of osteoarthritis. Identifying and managing joint problems early can help preserve mobility, maintain muscle strength and support better long-term comfort and function.
