Doggies were happy to be back on there walks this week now it’s cooler

This is what I have for the remainder of the summer luckily are summer is only a few months then it’s back to rain and cold anyway!!

I’m going by feel like temps due to the humidity.

Up to 24c - walks will run as normal

24c-29c - walks will be early morning or late evening. ( I will do a poll for who prefers what)

30c plus - some dogs will cope with an early or evening walk I know which ones will cope and which ones won’t so them dogs I know that will struggle on the extreme heat days I will cancel with you separately.
( this will be flat faced dogs, elderly dogs and young puppies under 1year)

Afternoon visits will still go ahead as normal for those needing them.

Obviously your more then welcome to not take me up on morning or evening walks but I do ask you let me know the day before at least so I can plan accordingly

Hope this kind of lays out a somewhat plan for you all. And I understand it’s a pain but your dogs welfare are far more important to me then my income!! So trying to keep it fair with dogs having walks/visits plus me not loosing an income completely!

All updates will be given by the night before.

Walks cancelled tomorrow due to red alert being extended!!
Home visits have been arranged for those needing them
Next week is looking a lot cooler back to low 20s so should be able to go ahead as normal

24/06/2026

Friday is also going into red alert! So I will keep an eye on this and let my customers know Thursday evening 🥵🥵

ALL WALKS CANCELLED TUESDAY - THURSDAY THIS WEEK!

I know I normally do 7am walks when it’s over 25 but it’s going to be 28/29 by 8am! And it’s not fair to put dogs in a hot van for drop offs it’s also extremely dangerous due to heat stroke!
People always say I bet you love your job in the summer being outside all day and yes it is nice but when we have heatwaves walks cannot take place -
So
Yes I’m loosing income this week but the dogs welfare comes first!!

I do offer home visits for the dogs that need them when there owners are at work and these have been arranged for this week already!

It’s not a day off for me like some people think as my work day starts midday for home visits to ensure all dogs are happy , stimulated and safe!

Keep all your doggies safe in the next few days and I will keep an eye on Friday and hopefully we can do an early Friday walk 🙂

Please don’t be surprised if walks are cancelled next week and changed to home visits instead or me offering 6am walks it is far to hot to be walking any dogs in that heat 🥵

Just a reminder dogs do get heat stroke very quickly and can be fatal also there poor paws on the hot pavements.

Keep walks very early and late at night. Keep dogs indoors and cool with plenty of water. If you have to take dogs for a wee (due to no garden) keep to shaded and grassed area and keep it very short.
No dog has died from missing walks!!

🚫🐾 All walks are cancelled tomorrow and walks moved to earlier the rest of the week 🐾🚫

If your dog walker is cancelling walks this week and offering pop-ins instead, it’s not because we “can’t be bothered” or want to enjoy the sunshine ourselves — it’s because your dogs’ welfare comes first.

In these temperatures, the risk of heat stroke is very real, and no walk is worth putting a dog’s life at risk.

Please remember: when we close or cancel walks, we also lose income. We make these decisions because we care more about your dogs’ safety than making money.

It’s honestly heartbreaking to still see people walking dogs during the hottest parts of the day, especially at lunchtime. I witnessed this myself!!

So what can you do instead of physical exercise?
👉 Mental stimulation!

Short training sessions, enrichment games, snuffle mats, lick mats, frozen treats, and scent work are all fantastic ways to tire dogs out safely.

Keep your pets safe!! 🐶🐾
