I’m putting together a small block of group classes for this summer — built around the core Priestlands Dogs values:

Small, supportive groups where every dog and handler gets the space they need.
✨ A positive, understanding community
Owners who contribute to a calm, encouraging atmosphere — no judgement, no pressure, just learning together.
✨ Real‑life training
Loose‑lead walking, recall, settling, engagement, exposure and troubleshooting — all practised in real‑world scenarios.
✨ Neutrality as standard
Not “socialising”, but learning to be calm, confident and focused around other dogs.
✨ A safe space to ask questions

We work through common queries together, with guidance and support every step of the way.

There’s a little misconception out there… that you should only match your dog with others who have the same energy level 🤔🐾

High‑energy dogs with other bouncy beans, and low‑energy dogs with gentle plodders.
I disagree — and here’s why 👇✨

Once your foundations are solid — good on‑ and off‑lead control, reliable proofed cues, and structured socialisation — exposing your dog to all kinds of dogs only strengthens their training 💪🐶

It teaches them that no matter the energy, excitement, or chaos around them…
✨ your boundaries stay the same
✨ your cues stay the same
✨ their non‑negotiables stay the same

Lola and Albie are both playful, bouncy pups, but they’re learning to enjoy each other slowly and respectfully — with plenty of space. This walk was so valuable: taking turns playing with me, mooching together, training independently, and expressing themselves in their own little bubbles (Lola’s happy roll at the end says it all! 😄💛).

A structured, supportive walk to build neutrality, confidence, and calmness around other dogs.

🐕‍🦺 13th June — Gundogs: Foundations & Fun (Final Week!)

A relaxed, confidence‑building class blending gundog foundations with fun, accessible exercises for all breeds.

“I’m a freelance Riding Instructor and also offer dog, cat, and animal sitting for friends.

🐾 Meet Jaz — Priestlands Dogs Pet Care 🐾

“Hi, I'm Jaz :)
I've been a dog lover my whole life… having 3 family dogs, including 2 rescues with more complex, anxious needs. I’ve cared for my parents’ anxious rescue Scooby for extended periods and loved every moment.
I volunteered at a rescue shelter in Thailand housing 500 dogs — feeding, caring for disabled dogs, walking them, and helping anxious dogs learn to trust again.
Over the last 2 years I’ve been dog walking for clients, friends, and family, and I’m excited to take this further with Priestlands Dogs. I can’t wait to meet the wonderful community Emma works with!”

🐾 Gundogs: Foundations & Fun – Week 6! 🐾

Another beautiful atmosphere at class this week — calm, focused and full of teamwork. Our wonderful, hard‑working handlers have clearly been doing their homework… the progress speaks for itself! 🌟

This week we worked on:
🔸 Retrieves
🔸 Directional Work & Distance Control
🔸 Teaching Left & Right
🔸 Adding in choices for the dogs
🔸 Perfecting those delivery lines
Everyone supported each other, celebrated the wins, and pushed for improvement — exactly what gundog training should feel like. 🤍
