Dog Meats Bone

Dog Meats Bone Hi! My name is Jasmine. I source the best dog food and treats I can find. I wanted to help other dog owners (and their dogs!) to also find great food.

My inspiration is my own dog Enid who I want to feed not only food that she loves but is good for her as well. You can find me in my shop in Altrincham or in the evening when I personally deliver direct to your door. We can have a chat on the doorstep and if you have any questions, just ask. Take a look at www.dogmeatsbone.co.uk to see who I have partnered with. My suppliers ethically source their

ingredients and use environmentally friendly packaging where they can. That's really important to me too, so all of my packaging is fully recyclable. I stock a wide range of products from meals, to bones and loads of natural treats. Me and my little van (and sometimes Enid who occasionally tags along) deliver to most parts of South Manchester and Salford.

I’ve had a few messages over the last week asking what’s happening with Dog Meats Bone, so I wanted to share a proper update.

The Dog Meats Bone shop in Broadheath is now permanently closed.

For a number of reasons, I’ve made the very difficult decision not to re-open the shop in its current form. Dog Meats Bone will continue, but I’m taking some time to work out what that looks like and how best I can keep helping you feed and care for your dogs.

For now, home deliveries will also pause. This is a practical/logistics decision while I work out the next step.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t heartbroken.

Dog Meats Bone started during Covid, with seven chest freezers in my dining room, when getting to the shops suddenly wasn’t as simple as it had always been.

It took two weeks for the first order to come in. I was so happy — and possibly a little overenthusiastic to get it delivered — that I may have gently hit the car behind me while exiting my parking spot.

I was ecstatic.

Not just because someone had ordered, but because it showed me that Dog Meats Bone could help people. That other dog owners needed the same thing I did: good food, reliable service, and a straightforward way to feed their dogs properly.

A massive thank you to everyone who visited the shop, ordered from me, trusted me with your dogs’ food, or let me turn up at your front door with a van full of frozen meat and treats.

I was never happier than when I got a bit of love from your dogs along the way.

I’ve truly appreciated all the support, kind words, loyalty and encouragement over the years. It has meant more than I can properly put into words. Just thinking about it makes me tear up a little.

Dog Meats Bone isn’t disappearing — I’m just working out the most practical way for it to continue.

So this isn’t quite goodbye to Dog Meats Bone, but it is goodbye to the Broadheath shop.

Thank you.

With the shop still in limbo for a while longer I’ve had a bit more thinking time than usual lately, and it’s got me thinking about the little day-to-day things that crop up with dogs.

Since December alone, Enid has torn a nail off, cut her paw pad, had sore ears and had her teeth reluctantly brushed by me.

It made me wonder whether a small, carefully chosen “dog medicine cabinet” — practical things that are genuinely useful to have at home — would be helpful.

I’ve put together a very short survey because I’m trying to work out whether this is actually a good idea, or just one of my many thoughts.

It takes about 2 minutes.

I'd really appreciate your views.

Since the fire I’ve had more thinking time than usual, and it’s got me reflecting on our dogs and how we care for them day to day. Since December alone, Enid has torn a nail off, cut her paw pad, had sore ears and had her teeth reluctantly brushed by me. It’s made me think about the sorts of t...

A quick update

Thank you to everyone who’s checked in — it’s been really appreciated.

Following a fire in a neighbouring unit, we are fully closed for now — both the shop and the website — while affected stock is dealt with and everything is properly cleaned and re-stocked. Thankfully no one was harmed, and it’s nothing that can’t be put right with a bit of time and care.

We’ll share updates here on Facebook and Instagram. If you’d prefer email updates, you can sign up to the newsletter via the website. (www.dogmeatsbone.co.uk)

Thanks for your patience — we’ll be back once everything’s ready.

That means only 11 more sleeps before that first window opens on advent calendars up and down the country.

Only 10 left and for £9.95 it's practically abuse to deny your dog one.
Behind the windows you'll find goose sausages, turkey sausages and yak pieces.

Order online at www.dogmeatsbone.co.uk and get yours tomorrow.

A bit of time off for some sun, surf and sunburn. The shop opens and deliveries resume 14 October.
