I’ve had a few messages over the last week asking what’s happening with Dog Meats Bone, so I wanted to share a proper update.
The Dog Meats Bone shop in Broadheath is now permanently closed.
For a number of reasons, I’ve made the very difficult decision not to re-open the shop in its current form. Dog Meats Bone will continue, but I’m taking some time to work out what that looks like and how best I can keep helping you feed and care for your dogs.
For now, home deliveries will also pause. This is a practical/logistics decision while I work out the next step.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t heartbroken.
Dog Meats Bone started during Covid, with seven chest freezers in my dining room, when getting to the shops suddenly wasn’t as simple as it had always been.
It took two weeks for the first order to come in. I was so happy — and possibly a little overenthusiastic to get it delivered — that I may have gently hit the car behind me while exiting my parking spot.
I was ecstatic.
Not just because someone had ordered, but because it showed me that Dog Meats Bone could help people. That other dog owners needed the same thing I did: good food, reliable service, and a straightforward way to feed their dogs properly.
A massive thank you to everyone who visited the shop, ordered from me, trusted me with your dogs’ food, or let me turn up at your front door with a van full of frozen meat and treats.
I was never happier than when I got a bit of love from your dogs along the way.
I’ve truly appreciated all the support, kind words, loyalty and encouragement over the years. It has meant more than I can properly put into words. Just thinking about it makes me tear up a little.
Dog Meats Bone isn’t disappearing — I’m just working out the most practical way for it to continue.
So this isn’t quite goodbye to Dog Meats Bone, but it is goodbye to the Broadheath shop.
Thank you.
Jasmine
