What a fantastic first day! 🌟

Blossom looked so smart and happy meeting everyone 🐶🌸, while Brampton gave it his all and ended the day snoozing in his crate 💤

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, chatted with us, or popped into our Chill Out Zone, it was lovely to see so many smiles (and wagging tails!).

We’ll be back tomorrow for Day Two! So if you didn’t catch us today, make sure to come and say hello! 🩵

Photo 1 (Blossom on the field):
A small, scruffy terrier-type dog, Blossom, is sitting alertly on grass with big ears pricked up and a happy expression. She’s wearing a turquoise vest that says Therapy Dog in Training with the NEAT Dogs logo. Behind her, the festival field is dotted with colourful gazebos and people walking about.

Photo 2 (Brampton in crate):
A brown-and-white spaniel, Brampton, is curled up asleep inside a fabric-covered crate. The crate is set up under a tent at the dog festival, with a banner next to it that reads North East Assistance and Therapy Dogs and lists the different services therapy and assistance dogs provide.

Soooooooo, two things:

1) With apologies to everyone who was looking forward to meeting Angus tomorrow, I’m afraid I got home from setting up at the dog festival this evening to find him feeling really pretty grotty. He is in the ever capable hands of Morris and Plumley emergency vets in Alnwick and won’t be well enough to attend the festival tomorrow.

2) great aerial shot of our location at the Dog Festival. Haf and Blossom will still be there, along with the NEATDogs team.

Come down and see us!!!! (We will be lonely otherwise 😊)

Accessibility: one picture shows Angus, an older golden retriever, standing in a vet waiting room with a cannula in his leg ready for fluids.

Picture two shows an aerial shot of North East Dog festival field with an arrow pointing to thr NEAT Dogs tent location ready for people to visit tomorrow and Sunday.

Heading for The North East Dog Festival this weekend end but worried about overwhelm?

Tucked away in Zone C, NEAT Dogs are providing a small, darkened tent area where you or your children can sit, chill and take some time to self regulate. There will be wobble chairs and fidget toys for our sensory seekers and mats to lie on with different types of relaxing lights to help you chill. Whilst it won’t by any means be be soundproof (the festival is definitely BYO ear defenders!), it will at least calm some of your senses and hopefully help the stress reduce.

Angus, our piece of living carpet, will also be on hand to lie with you and help to chill the vibe. Stay as long as you need to!

Accessibility: The image shows four dogs in a cozy, warmly lit spa-like room that feels calm and relaxing.
On the left, a golden retriever sits on a yoga mat with its eyes closed, looking peaceful, with an open book placed in front of its paws as if meditating or studying.
Behind it, on a massage table, a black dog lies on its back with legs in the air, completely relaxed.
In the middle foreground, a small curly apricot-colored dog is on another yoga mat, stretching forward in a playful “downward dog” pose.
On the right, a white and brown terrier lies on a cushion, wearing a towel wrapped around its head like at a spa, along with a pair of sunglasses, giving off a pampered vibe.

The background includes potted plants, a glowing orange salt lamp, and a small candle on a wooden side table, enhancing the tranquil spa atmosphere.

One dog means one day to go before the North East Dog Festival gets underway!

Come down and meet the team, including the ever beautiful Blossom. Surely nobody can resist this face?!?! 😍

Accessibility: picture shows Blossom the terrier mix in a close up of her face. She has a white face with tan patches around her eyes which spread on up to cover her ears. As her mum was a Yorkshire Terrier, she has slightly longer fur than a smooth haired Jack Russel and it means she has long wispy bits of hair sticking out all over the place and the cutest little beard and muzzle whiskers. Her lovely big dark eyes are looking straight at the camera and she has a calm but curious expression on her face. Her ears are sticking straight up and have crinkled sides.

Two dogs must mean there’s only two days left until the North East Dog Festival.

Have you got your questions ready..? Come down and ask us ANYTHING about assistance or therapy dog training, work, support and everything in between.

Haf and Blossom can’t WAIT to meet you!

Accessibility: picture shows Hafnar, a black lab with his mouth relaxed and open showing his bright pink tongue. He is lying on a car tyre which is filled so as to make a bench for dogs to chill on. The photo is taken in a field with short green grass and longer brown coloured grass visible behind him. He is wearing a blue ‘in training’ jacket and a black jacket with the North East Assistance and Therapy Dogs name and logo on, along with the words ‘Assistance Dog In Training.’ Next to him is Blossom, a tiny (3kg) terrier mix. She is white with tan and black patches. She has tan patches over each eye which follow up to her upright but slightly wonky ears. She has a curious look on her face. She is wearing a blue harness which says assistance dog on. She’s incredibly cute .. while Haf is incredibly handsome. Not that we are biased at all.

Photo description: Three of our NEAT dogs enjoying the outdoors together. On the left, Blossom a small terrier with a blue harness proudly balances on a fallen tree trunk. In the middle, Hafnar, a happy black Labrador sits with a big smile, and on the right, Angus a golden retriever with a wavy coat looks calm and content.
