πŸ“’ Member Information – Farnham Pilgrim Marathon & Half Marathon πŸƒπŸŽ£

If you're planning to fish at The Tarn on Sunday 13th September, please be aware that the Farnham Pilgrim Marathon & Half Marathon will be taking place that morning.

πŸƒ The event starts between 8:30am and 9:00am, with runners passing through the area near the parking by Myrtle's Courtyard before crossing the dam at the western end of the Tarn.
A small section of the path may be temporarily taped off to allow runners to pass safely, but parking should not be significantly affected.

Later in the morning:
βœ… Half marathon runners will return across the dam.
βœ… Marathon runners will also be using the northern bank of the Tarn on their return from Cutmill Pond, so members fishing that stretch may experience some temporary disruption.

The route will be clearly marked in advance, and we don't anticipate any major issues. We simply wanted to make members aware so you can plan your day accordingly.

Thank you for your understanding, and if you're fishing on the day, please be mindful of the runners and marshals. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and successful event! πŸŽ£πŸƒ

🦈🎣 Junior Pike Fish-In – A New Event for 2026! 🎣🦈
Calling all Junior and Intermediate Farnham Angling Society members!

This year we're doing something a little different...
Instead of a classroom-style teach-in, you'll be out on the bank actually fishing for pike under the guidance of Mike Slater and the FAS Pike Teach-In Team!

πŸ“… Saturday 24th October 2026
πŸ“ Mill Lane (Pegs 1–10)
⏰ 7:30am – 3:00pm

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn all aspects of pike fishing while putting those skills into practice on the day. Whether you're new to pike fishing or looking to improve, our experienced team will be on hand throughout to offer advice, demonstrations and plenty of tips.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ Parents are very welcome to stay, join in the day and learn alongside the young anglers.

🎣 The event is FREE for Farnham Angling Society members and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Please note:
βœ… You must be a current FAS Junior or Intermediate member.
βœ… You must hold an FAS Pike Teach-In Stamp.
βœ… Please bring your own pike tackle, bait, food and drinks.
βœ… A full tackle list will be provided before the event.

πŸ“ž To book your place or find out more, contact Mike Slater on 07967 736 815.

With limited pegs available, we'd encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment.

We look forward to seeing the next generation of pike anglers on the bank! πŸ¦ˆπŸ’šπŸŽ£

🎣 What a fantastic weekend! 🎣

A huge thank you to Tony and his team for delivering another brilliant Carp Teach-In for our members.

Despite the challenging conditions, with soaring temperatures and plenty of w**d to contend with, everyone got stuck in, picked up some great tips and techniques, and, most importantly, had a thoroughly enjoyable time on the bank.

It's always fantastic to see members sharing knowledge, learning new skills, and enjoying each other's company – that's what Farnham Angling Society is all about.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. Special thanks to Terry Doe, Paul Bartholomew, Martin Taylor and Gordon Smithson for helping Tony!

We hope you all came away with plenty of ideas to put into practice on your next carp session!

New - Exchange Ticket with the Civil Service Angling Society

The Executive Committee are pleased to advise that the Society has entered into an Exchange Ticket System with the Civil Service Angling Society (CSAS), so that 6 tickets will be available on a daily basis to fish at Stanford End, River Loddon for our members, and their members will likewise have 6 tickets available to fish at Southlea Farm, River Thames.

For our members that don't know the stretch, it offers mixed fishing on a small river, with Roach, Dace, Gudgeon, Chub to 6lb, some great Perch to 4lb plus Pike, with some Barbel still present, but at present not in the numbers or size they have been previously, but hopefully that will change over time.

The information within the tab p Clubmate is visible and the ability to book if available for 16th June - 14th March. You may need to log out and then back into your Clubmate account to see it.

Note:
a) The Exchange Tickets for FAS members run for 24-Hrs, from 5:30am to 5:30am the following day: you must leave the car park by 5:30am.
b) The Exchange Tickets are only available to be booked by adult members.
c) Any breaches of the rules or byelaws of the CSAS that are reported to us by the CSAS will result in disciplinary action.
