Moon's Menagerie

We have had a sad week at Moon's Menagerie. Two of our guinea pigs, Noddles and Lily picked up an upper respiratory infection. Despite swift treatment, our lovely Noddles passed away on Tuesday 😭💔 Thankfully, Lily has gone on to make a full recovery. Rest in Peace Noddles 🌈😭

We had a beautiful pair of chinchillas brought in over the weekend. They were found abandoned in a cardboard box by a dog walker in Swinley Forest.

This good, kind person scooped them up and took them home then contacted us. They are now safe and well with an experienced foster carer. Thank you so much to you both.

If anyone is missing these little ones or knows anything about them and how they ended up alone in the forest, please get in touch with us. All contact will be treated in the strictest confidence.

We have welcomed a new addition to my resident pigs this week - Doris (on the right) is approximately 5 years old and needed a retirement home, having been a school guinea pig. She will get lots of fuss here 🥰 Noddles and Lily still aren't totally sure about their new friend but hopefully it won't be too long before they settle down!

My current foster rabbit, Popcorn, is looking for a new home 🏡
Popcorn is a small size and beautiful looking rabbit - so cute!
Popcorn is super friendly and loves to be stroked.
Popcorn is vaccinated, neutered, and litter trained!
Popcorn will be able to start bonding with another neutered and vaccinated rabbit at the beginning of October.

Background story…
We are kindly permitted the use of a garden by one of our team members and this is our main foster home in Bracknell. Sadly, with the little army of volunteers associated with daily feeding and cleaning, it became almost unusable over the last couple of winters as heavy rain turned the lawn to bog. The only way that we can realistically continue to use the space this winter is if we replace the lawn with paving. So far, we have sourced enough free paving slabs on Marketplace to cover the space but we need to do preparatory groundworks and we really need help.

Goose and Maverick are 8 weeks old today! Born here in rescue these gorgeous boys are ready to find their forever home. They are sweet and friendly and get along great together.

We do find it harder to rehome boar pairs than sows for various reasons so if you are considering adopting a pair of guinea pigs and have any questions, please drop us a message for a chat.

Meet Waffle and Sugar, a pair of 8-month-old female guinea pigs, looking for a new ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🏡. They are very sweet girls and are currently settling well into their experienced foster home. Waffle (on the left) has been a little shy but Sugar has been doing lots of exploring!
