š® Food waste warning š®
As many of us across the area adjust to the new household waste routines this week, we are all getting used to our shiny new food waste caddies. However, whilst we might see a new chore, our four-legged family members see something else entirely: The Ultimate Forbidden Buffet!
Before our pet friends decide to do some āunauthorised recyclingā please consider keeping the food waste caddies firmly out of paws' reach, such as up on a high countertops or in a secure cupboard.
Everyday items like onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, and coffee grounds are highly toxic to dogs and cats. Leftover bones can easily splinter, causing severe internal damage or blockages. Additionally, certain food moulds produce āmycotoxinsā which can cause severe muscle tremors and seizures in pets.
Here is vet Jessās dog, Sprout, approving his new bin. If you ever suspect your pet has eaten something they shouldn't have, please give us a call straight away.
Happy recycling!
