🐾 Important Flea Policy Update 🐾

I’m always happy to help with your dogs even when they’re dealing with fleas. However, because fleas are a serious concern in a grooming environment, I want to make sure everyone understands our updated policy:

✔️ If your dog has fleas and you let me know in advance, I will gladly groom them. They will be scheduled as the last appointment of the day, and there will be an additional flea treatment fee. This helps protect all of my clients’ pets and my business.

❗ If you bring your dog in with fleas without notifying me ahead of time — especially during a mid-day appointment — you will be charged a FULL groom fee and asked to reschedule.

Why this is important to my business.
A dog coming in with fleas unannounced can force me to close my business for up to 24 hours for cleaning and sanitizing, which means I lose income and have to delay other clients’ appointments.

I appreciate your honesty and cooperation so I can keep providing safe, high-quality grooming for every dog in my care.

The Chapelhall entrance to Lancaster Avenue is closed (penny cars round about), so entering from that side isn’t possible. To get to your appointment please enter from bellside road (top of Lancaster)

Please leave in plenty of time for your appointments this week as the road will be closed for 4 days.

T-5 Days Until Marathon Day! 🏃‍♂️🐾

The countdown is on! In just 5 days, I’ll be running my first marathon of the year in support of Dogs Trust an amazing charity helping dogs find the loving homes they deserve. 💛

Despite a slight back and hip injury, I’m pushing through because these pups are worth every step. Your support means the world, and it’s what keeps me going!

❗️❗️Warm Weather Safety Notice ❗️❗️

As temperatures begin to rise, I want to take a moment to highlight the importance of keeping dogs safe in hot conditions.

As you all know my wee cabin in a south-facing garden, and during sunny spells it can become quite hot inside. If I feel that the temperature is too high to ensure your dog’s comfort and safety, I may need to reschedule your appointment.

Should that happen, I’ll contact you directly. If you don’t hear from me, please assume your appointment will go ahead as scheduled.

Running for Paws – Support Our Journey!

On May 25th, I’ll be lacing up my running shoes for the Edinburgh Marathon in support of an incredible cause – Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity. Their mission to protect and care for our four-legged friends is one I deeply believe in, and I’m proud to run every mile for them.

But that’s not all…

In September, I’m taking it up a notch – literally – by running the Jungfrau Marathon in Switzerland. This isn’t your typical race. It winds through the stunning Swiss Alps with an elevation gain of over 6,000 feet. It’s one of the toughest marathons in Europe, with relentless uphill climbs and breathtaking (literally!) mountain trails.

I’m doing both these challenges to raise awareness and funds for Dogs Trust, who work tirelessly to give every dog the life they deserve.

However, this isn’t just about the physical challenge or even just raising funds — training for these marathons is also a big part of how I manage my own mental health. Running gives me clarity, purpose, and calm in a busy world.

Dear Clients,

As many of you are aware, I have been away from work for the past few weeks. I am planning to return on Thursday, the 13th, though I will be easing back in with a phased approach to ensure I don’t take on too much at once. I truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

For those whose appointments were canceled, I will be reaching out to reschedule or book your next appointment if you have made alternative arrangements in the meantime.

I also want to acknowledge that this has been an incredibly difficult time for my family and me, as we recently experienced a profound loss. When dropping off your dogs, please respect my privacy, as you all know Belle was my entire world, and talking about her is extremely difficult. Your kindness and understanding mean so much to me.

Dear all,

It is with a broken heart that I inform you of the passing of our sweet girl. Belle peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her family.

During this difficult time, I kindly ask for privacy as we mourn the loss of our sweet girl.

I will return to work when the time is right, and if you are aware of any family members or friends who are not connected with us on Facebook, please let them know that we are not ignoring them, but simply need some time to grieve.

We completely understand if you need to arrange an alternative groomer in the meantime.

We will provide an update on social media when we resume grooming and will be arranging grooming appointments in due course.

I wanted to let you know that I have made the decision to take some time off, as of February 17th, the business will be temporarily closed. I want to reassure you that this is not a permanent closure—just a short break so I can focus on my family, who need me right now.

I will be in touch with everyone individually, but I wanted to share this update with you all as soon as possible. I completely understand if you need to go elsewhere during this time, and there are absolutely no hard feelings.

🌟 Important Announcement 🌟

I will be returning to work as of Monday, January 13th! However, please note the following important details regarding my schedule and availability:

For now, I will only be working during the day. Night appointments will not be available unless we’ve specifically discussed and agreed on them.

To accommodate as many clients as possible, I will be working Saturdays and Sundays.

❗️Rescheduling Notice
Belle is my top priority at the moment. If I need to reschedule your appointment, it will be for this reason. I sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. Please make sure your phone is on and accessible on the day of your appointment, as I may need to make changes at short notice.

❗️Punctuality Policy
As I am working limited hours, it’s very important that you arrive on time to drop off your dog for their groom. Unfortunately, if you are late and the groom cannot go ahead, you will still need to pay the full grooming fee.

❗️Priority Clients
My first priority will be reaching out to the 38 clients whose December appointments had to be canceled. I will be in touch with you directly to arrange your next appointment as soon as possible.

For everyone else, I kindly ask for your patience. It may be a couple of weeks before I can fit you in, as I catch up on these rescheduled grooms.

If this delay means you need to go elsewhere in the meantime, I completely understand and support your decision to do what’s best for you and your pup.

I’m writing this with a heavy heart to let you know that I will be taking some time off due to my girl Belle being unwell and needing my care, as well as taking some time to focus on my own health.
