πΎβοΈ ALL DOG OWNERS β
summer heat can be deadly for our furry friends!
As temperatures rise, please keep these important reminders in mind:
π‘οΈ Hot pavement burns paws. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws. Test the ground before walking your dog β asphalt can reach dangerous temperatures even on mild sunny days.
π NEVER leave your dog in a parked car. Even with windows cracked, the temperature inside a car can skyrocket to fatal levels in just minutes.
π§ Hydration is everything. Always carry fresh water on walks and make sure your dog has access to shade and water at home.
πΆ Know the signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or collapse. If you notice any of these, move your dog to a cool area immediately and contact your vet.
β° Walk at the right times. Stick to early morning or evening walks when the ground is cooler and the sun isn't at its peak.
Some breeds β especially flat-faced dogs like Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boxers β are even more vulnerable to heat. Extra caution goes a long way! π
Share this with a fellow dog lover and help keep our pets safe this summer! β€οΈ
