Daycare doesn’t always mean staying at daycare.

This morning we loaded some of our daycare gang into the Woof Wagon and headed out to one of our local secure fields for a good run, lots of sniffing and a change of scenery.

We like to mix things up for our daycare dogs. We don’t want every day to look exactly the same, so we regularly take them out to different places for new smells, new environments and different experiences.

Sometimes that might be a secure field, sometimes a walk somewhere different, and other days there’ll be plenty going on back at LCA.

For us, good daycare isn’t about putting a group of dogs together and letting them play for eight hours. It’s about giving them a balanced day with exercise, enrichment, social time, new experiences and, just as importantly, plenty of opportunity to switch off and rest.

Today’s little adventure definitely got the paws up from this lot.

Then it was back into the Woof Wagon and back to LCA for some well-earned downtime.

One of the perks of daycare and hotel stays at LCA is that we have our own grooming salon right here on site.

So, while your dog is spending the day playing with their friends or enjoying their holiday in The Academy Suites, they can also pop into salon for a groom.

No extra journeys, no trying to squeeze another appointment into your week and, best of all, you collect a clean, fresh and very smart-looking dog.

Just let us know when booking daycare or a hotel stay and we’ll arrange the grooming appointment for you.

Hi everyone,

Just a friendly reminder for customers who have a permanent daycare space.

As set out in the terms and conditions that everyone signed when joining daycare, invoices must be paid at least 48 hours before your dog’s first session of the week or month, depending on how you are billed.

This is not a new policy, but I do need to be a little firmer about it going forward. I completely understand that life gets busy and things can occasionally be missed, but I really do not have time to keep chasing unpaid invoices. The extra admin takes me away from the work I should be doing with the dogs, so I would really appreciate everyone making sure payments are made on time.

The signed terms and conditions also state that at least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session. Where less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the session will still be charged in full, as the space has been reserved specifically for your dog and is unlikely to be filled at short notice.

Having a permanent space means your dog’s place is guaranteed each week. However, if late payments or missed invoices become a regular occurrence, the permanent space may be removed. Future sessions would then need to be booked online and paid for at the time of booking.

Thank you for understanding and for helping us keep the admin manageable so we can spend more time doing what we are actually here for, looking after and working with your dogs.

Today our daycare queen turned four, and it’s safe to say she’s had a brilliant day celebrating with all her friends.

We asked Arabella if she had anything she’d like to say, and her response was…

“Thanks everyone! I had the best day… but next year, can I have a birthday party with a few less Golden Retrievers? They seem to think every birthday is their birthday!” 😂

Happy Birthday, Arabella. We hope your day has been filled with treats, toys, zoomies and lots of fuss from all of us at LCA Daycare. ❤️🐾
